Mia's POV:
I furrowed my brows. Did she just say they had evidence of me leaving the apartment?
“Yes, well, Mia is denying everything, so…” Nick said. He sounded very convincing. Chloe didn't respond to that. I guess she didn't know what to say.
“Did you see Pedro alive before Mia came?” Nick asked.
“He was in his bedroom when I left for the gym. Like I said, I forgot something, and when I returned, Mia was hurrying out of my apartment like she'd seen a ghost. Pedro was the only one home then.” Chloe explained.
We listened quietly to what she had to say in the car. I tried not to let my disbelief get the better part of my judgment. All I wanted to do was help Chloe.
