“How can you believe her?” Sienna exploded. “You can’t possibly be buying any of this?”
She hurried into the room as her parents stepped away from me to face her. And I couldn’t help but notice how they put themselves between the two of us. I saw Jake step further into the room as well, as if ready to jump in front of his sister.
Would she really try to attack me? I couldn’t help a lot of what had happened. And she wasn’t wrong about the risk I posed to this family, and in fact to the entire pack.
