For a moment, nobody moved, everyone was too stunned by Sienna’s betrayal of Amelia, and her family’s wish to keep her safe.
Then Jake moved to stand in front of his sister, his parents following. It was clear they were cutting her out of the situation.
“You will not be taking Amelia from this household,” Lillian said firmly. “She is a welcome guest and you, you’re just a bully!”
Martin put a hand on his wife’s shoulder when she would have stepped forward, urging her to stay back and calm down a bit. He knew how ferocious his wife could be when her anger was riled.
