Jake’s POV
“This shouldn’t be happening,” Dr. Wyatt said. “I triple checked the labels on the injections. They should not be causing her any pain, let along subjecting her to this!”
“Show me,” I said, at my wit’s end. I didn’t want to doubt the doctor. As far as I could tell, she had been the only one who had been kind to Amelia during her time in Damien’s pack, and Amelia seemed to trust her.
But the facts spoke for themselves. Amelia was here, potentially fighting for her life, and I was going to figure out why. If Dr. Wyatt was hurting her in some way, it was up to me, as Amelia’s sworn protector to discover that and make sure it would not happen anymore.
Ever again. No matter what that meant I had to do to stop her.
