Chapter 4
The King and Queen looked astonished. The last Oracle died a very long time ago. It was even before the King ascended into the throne. This news is really of great impact. Among their race, the Oracle is one of the most sought after gift. In Ohrandia's history, there had been wars fought to keep the Oracle from being abducted by enemy planets. Kingdoms sought to possess the Oracle to gain the upper hand in war, trade and commerce. This piece of news is indeed great. The enormity is boundless. The realms will envy them and that can result in disaster.
A time in history has been recorded of having the Oracle of Ohran abducted by other kingdoms. Several times the Oracle changed hands in the realms and war has broken out repeatedly. Kingdoms ruled to great power with the enslavement of the Ohran Oracle. People of Ohran had been enslaved several thousand years ago and exploited by their captors. Only the sheer determination of the people pushed them thru to independence. They may be a peaceful race but they can be ferocious and unmatched warriors in the battlefield. Their gifts gave them advantage over their enemies. Now that a new Oracle was chosen by the gods, the King dreaded what can this mean to the kingdom. He has reigned for many decades and has brought incomparable peace and prosperity for his people. However he has not faced any notable wars or conflicts in the past. His reign highlighted through the advanced technology his kingdom has dominated in the seven realms. It was economic power that made him and his kingdom powerful in several universes. Before the King can formulate a response to that news, the High Priestess continued. "She had her first prophesy uttered with the thunder of the Great God Iaru on the North and the flash of the Great God Astrapi on the East. It was followed by the howls of the Great God of the West Ahiahi and the wailing of the Great God of the South Dozhd." At this revelation, the King grasped the Scepter Virgamu tight. The scepter trembled in his hand. It gives off sparks as if a sputtering of electricity spewed off it. The Queen nearly lost her composure. Her eyes grew wide and luminous. She's now dreading this prophesy since never in her studies of history did any prophesy verified by the ancient gods bode any peace. "Father!" the shout of the young boy from behind the throne sounds terrified. The young prince was forgotten. His instruction is to sit at the back of the throne so he can learn state diplomacy at a young age. His lessons in state crafts started early so he can fulfill his duty to his elder sister, the Crowned Princess. When she rose to the throne, the young prince will be her closest ally. There is no unraveling what he has heard. The prince, though young, has been gifted with a high intelligence that is unique even in their race. He started reading at age 1. He progressed to solving quantum physics at age two and three months. His reading of history and philosophy books and treatises has been done by age 5. He has been a constant presence at the palace's archives since he was able to read. His ability to read one's emotion and psyche started early on and manifested as his true gift two years ago. His reading of his parents agitations had him shaking in fear. He knows that history was littered with tragedies involving oracles. Now with having one so vividly proclaimed by the gods, this bode a tragedy again in the making. He ran to his mother shaking. His young heart cannot contain the fear that settled in his parent's consciousness.
Hollywood, California
Troy seethed as he went out of his agent's office. He was asked to act as boyfriend to Lara Retroua, the premier b***h of Hollywood known among the entertainment industry as the meanest actress. Possessed with incredible beauty but as cold as the icebergs of Antarctica. Why on earth is he asked to be that woman's boy toy in public is beyond him. Admittedly the woman was stunning. But he can't stand the woman's cold demeanor and superior aloofness. He doesn't care for the fame it may bring him. He's good with his modeling stints and minor roles in movies. His job as lifeguard afforded him the opportunity to help those traumatized by water tragedies. He volunteers to help them reacquainted with the ocean and overcome their fears. His grandpa though could use the money to retire but he really can't stomach the woman's presence. He better go home. The handsome young man did not see the malevolent eyes that watches him from the upper floor of the building. How dare he reject her as if she were nothing. Troy drove home to his grandfather's house in the outskirts of Los Angeles. His grandpa was actually his father's most trusted advisor before they left their embattled planet sixteen years ago. He was just a young boy of 8 at the time. He can still vividly recall how his father, King Yoran, asked his friend and adviser Lord Arwan to accompany his son to the portal. The court's magician, Merlot, awaiting them in the basement of the Imperial Palace. The attack on the palace was unprecedented. Everyone was caught unaware. He just knew that his uncle brought home assassins with their bioweapons and eliminated one-third of the palace guards. Before his uncle could enter the inner sanctum of the palace, his father already knew that the new weapon his uncle's hired assassins brought with them will be unmatched. Their superior weaponry will let them succeed in forcibly taking the throne and overthrow his father. "Where are we going?" he can still remember asking his teacher Lord Arwan.
"We are going to Ata Hapara. You would be safe there." his teacher told him. "How about father? Will he join us there? Mom is still in Ohrandia. Why not wait for them?" he argued, resisting to go. His mentor told him, "We are in a hurry Your Highness! The palace is about to be razed." Lord Arwan said in a panicked voice. He dragged him by the hand to the portal. "Hurry up!" Merlot shouted. "I won't be able to hold this much longer. I have to go back to the King." With that, Troy went with Lord Arwan and he never knew what happened to his father or his mother and everyone else from their planet. He vowed to find a way to go back home. His uncle will pay for his crimes.
