CHAPTER TWENTY FIVE

AMELIA ROSE POV The investigation continued for several days. The police and the medical team did everything they could to find the person responsible for what happened to the patient. They questioned people. They checked the hospital records. They investigated everything surrounding the incident. But unfortunately, they couldn't find the person responsible. Eventually, the case went quiet. Life at the hospital slowly returned to normal. A few days passed, and everyone became busy preparing for the hospital's 59th anniversary. The whole hospital was excited. It was going to be a big celebration, and many important people were expected to attend. The day before the anniversary, my shift ended early. I couldn't wait for the celebration. I had never attended a party like this before, so I decided to go shopping with Karen for a dinner gown. When I got home, Karen was already waiting for me. “Amelia, hurry up! We have to go shopping.” I laughed. “Okay, okay. I'm coming.” We grabbed our bags and headed out together. As we walked into one of the shopping malls, we started looking at different gowns. Karen picked up a beautiful dress and held it against herself. “What do you think?” I laughed. “That looks beautiful on you.” She smiled. We continued walking around the mall, looking at different dresses. KAREN POV I was so happy. “Amelia, I'm so happy that we are going to something this big.” Amelia laughed. “Me too.” We looked at each other and started laughing. We had never attended a wealthy people's party before. This was going to be our first big celebration. “I can't believe we're actually going to be there,” I said excitedly. Amelia smiled. “Just don't embarrass me.” I laughed. “Me? Never.” We continued shopping, enjoying ourselves. But as we walked past another store, I suddenly stopped. Someone had caught my attention. I looked ahead. It was Charlotte. She was standing nearby. She looked at us and slowly smiled. Then she walked toward us. CHARLOTTE POV “Well, well…” I looked at Amelia from head to toe. “Who do we have here?” I smiled coldly. “The clumsy nurse.” Amelia looked at me. I could see the surprise on her face. I crossed my arms. “What are you doing here?” I looked at the dress in her hands and laughed softly. “Shopping for the anniversary party?” I stepped closer. “This should be interesting.” Karen stepped forward. “Charlotte, we're just shopping. We don't have a problem with you.” I looked at her. “I wasn't talking to you.” Karen rolled her eyes. I turned toward the store manager. “Manager.” The manager quickly approached me. “Yes, ma'am?” I pointed at Amelia and Karen. “Blacklist them from this store.” The manager looked surprised. “Blacklist them?” “Yes.” I folded my arms. “They don't have a membership card, and I don't want them shopping here.” Amelia looked at me in disbelief. “Excuse me? We came here to shop. We haven't done anything wrong.” I laughed. “You don't understand how this store works.” Karen shook her head. “We're willing to pay for whatever we want to buy.” I looked at her from head to toe. “Money isn't the only thing that matters here.” I turned toward the manager. “Are you going to do what I asked?” The manager looked uncomfortable. “Ma'am, I—” “Do it.” My voice became firm. The manager finally nodded. “Yes, ma'am.” Amelia's face changed. I smiled. “You should have known better than to come here.” Karen stepped closer to Amelia. “Let's just leave.” I laughed. “Of course. Leave.” I looked at Amelia again. “And don't come back.” Amelia looked at me but didn't say anything. She turned around with Karen. I smiled proudly. I had finally put that clumsy nurse in her place. But just as they were about to leave, a man's voice suddenly came from behind us. “Excuse me.” Everyone turned around. A young man was walking toward us. He looked calm and confident. The manager immediately recognized him. His expression changed. “Mr. Liam…” I frowned. Why did the manager suddenly look so nervous? Liam stopped in front of us. He looked at Amelia and Karen, then at me. “What exactly is going on here?” I opened my mouth to answer. But before I could say anything, the manager spoke. “Sir, level five membership card holder asked me to blacklist these ladies.” Liam raised an eyebrow. “On what grounds?” The manager became silent. Liam looked at me. “Charlotte?” I crossed my arms. “They don't have membership cards.” He gave me a strange look. “That's the reason?” “Yes.” He smiled. “Interesting.” Then he reached into his pocket and pulled out his membership card. The manager's eyes widened. Because it was a level membership holder Liam handed it to him. “Check it.” The manager took the card. After checking it, his expression changed completely. “Sir…” Liam looked at him. “This is the second highest membership level we have.” The manager immediately nodded. “Yes, sir.” Liam looked at Amelia and Karen. “They can shop here.” I stared at him. “But—” He interrupted me. “Actually, they can shop here whenever they want.” The manager quickly nodded. “Of course, sir.” Liam turned toward Amelia and Karen. “You don't have to leave.” Karen looked surprised. Amelia was just as confused. Liam smiled slightly. “Take whatever you want. It's fine.” Charlotte's face immediately changed. For the first time, I had nothing to say. And the humiliation I had planned for Amelia had suddenly turned against me.
