AMELIA ROSE'S POV
“My mom knows me too well,” I said with a smile.
I looked at Karen.
“I have to quickly go back to work. My shift will soon start, but I'll come back later when I'm done.”
Karen's face immediately changed.
“You're leaving me already?”
I felt sad too.
“I know. I'm sorry.”
“I thought we were going to spend the whole day together.”
“I wish we could, but I really need to go to work.”
She sighed.
“Fine. Just make sure you come back later.”
“I promise.”
I gave her a quick hug before leaving.
I was sad to leave her, but I couldn't afford to lose my job.
I quickly headed back to the hospital.
When I finally got there, I hurried inside.
I was rushing down the hallway when suddenly—
BAM!
I bumped into someone.
I looked up and saw a beautiful young woman standing in front of me.
She almost fell, but before she could hit the ground, her bodyguard quickly caught her.
I froze.
“Oh my God! I'm so sorry.”
But the girl didn't look sorry.
She looked extremely angry.
She straightened herself and glared at me.
“What is wrong with you?”
I swallowed.
“I said I'm sorry. I didn't mean to bump into you.”
She looked at me from head to toe.
I could tell she was furious.

CHARLOTTE'S POV
“How dare you!”
I couldn't believe what had just happened.
I was only going to visit my dad, and this stupid girl had almost made me fall.
Luckily, my bodyguard caught me before I hit the floor.
I looked at the girl angrily.
“Do you even know who I am?”
She stared at me.
I scoffed.
“My dad is the best plastic surgeon in the whole of New York.”
My father was very famous for his work.
He was one of the best plastic surgeons in the city, and I was very proud of him.
“He's the one who did Cardi's surgery,” I added proudly.
My dad was very good at what he did.
Everyone knew his name.
I looked at the girl again.
“How dare you just bump into me like that?”
She looked nervous.
“I'm really sorry. It was an accident.”
I was still angry.
“Hey, you stupid girl—”
I stopped for a moment and looked at her.
She didn't look like someone who belonged here.
I folded my arms.
“Who do you think you are?” I asked.
She kept quiet.
She looked like she didn't know what to say.

AMELIA ROSE'S POV
I didn't want to cause any more trouble.
I lowered my head slightly.
“I'm sorry. I'll be more careful.”
The girl looked at me for a moment before turning around and leaving with her bodyguard.
I stood there for a few seconds.
Then I sighed.
“Why does this kind of thing always happen to me?”
I quickly pushed the thought aside and went back to continue my shift.
Thankfully, the ten-year-old boy we had performed surgery on was now doing well.
I was relieved to hear that he was okay.
Later, I went to my locker to check my uniform.
As I was changing, Cassandra came over and started talking to me.

CASSANDRA'S POV
“Amelia, I'm sorry about what you just went through.”
She looked at me.I sighed.
“That's just how she behaves, as if her father owns this whole place.”
Amelia looked confused.
“Who is she?”
“She's the assistant director's daughter.”
Cassandra looked around before continuing.
“Her father is also one of the biggest investors here.”
Amelia nodded slowly.
“So that's why she behaves like that?”
“Exactly.”
I sighed.
“Just stay away from her. She can be very mean.”
Amelia looked at me.
“Okay.”
“Try your best not to cross paths with her.”
I nodded.
“Trust me, you don't want to get on her bad side.”
Amelia sighed.
“Okay, I'll be careful.”
I smiled.
“Good. Now, let's get back to work.”
