Chapter one : Meeting You part one

"Who the hell are you?" he said, with a puzzled look on his face. Now that I got a good look at him he was f*****g sexy. He was tall but not too tall. He was tan with black neck length hair and blue sparkling eyes. He was wearing a normal white robe that opened in the front showing his chest and a little of his abs.

His eyes were cold almost as if he was staring into my soul. I jerked back a little and a voice behind me chuckled and said, "Cult don't be rude to our guests." He was tall also but much taller than Cult. He had long light brown hair that was tucked back into a braid.

He was also tan and he had brown eyes to match. He was wearing a suit and spectacles meaning he just returned from somewhere important. He took off his glasses placing them in his pocket. His hair swayed across his face, he pushed it back and said, "I'm sorry don't mind my little brother. He's always like this. Welcome to our bath house I'm Kairo Furukawa, 22. Nice to meet you?"

"Oh sorry my name is Mai! Mai Yoshino." I said as I bowed to him.

Then the others began to introduce themselves. First up was Shane Furukawa, 20. He was taller than Cult and Kairo. He had curly black hair and green eyes. He wasn't as tan as Kairo and Cult but tan. He was wearing a silk white robe. It wasn't as opened as Cult's but open showing only his neck line. Second to introduce himself was Blaine Furukawa, 23. The oldest out of the brothers. He was kind of shy and he blushed as he bowed to me. He had dark brown skater cut hair and grey eyes. He wore a grey shirt underneath his blue robe. I could tell that he was very shy and in-experience when talking to girls. Third was the twins Chris and Haru Furukawa, 19. They were average height. I could already tell that Chris was a badass. He had tattoos all up and down his neck. He was wearing a short sleeved robe showing his tattoos on both of his arms.

He had wild brown hair with blonde streaks and golden eyes. His entire ears were pierced on both sides. Haru was a little more flamboyant than the others. He had shoulder length curly silk bleached blonde hair with pink highlights and golden eyes. He wore a pink robe with purple flowers. Last was Cult Furukawa, 18. I knew his name but I didn't know much about him. Cult just stood there and looked at me gazing his eyes up and down at me. He didn't bow and he was plain rude. Then Kairo grabbed his head and shoved it down and told him to bow.

I gasp and said, "Oh no you really don't have to do that to him." Then Kairo said, "Yes but it's not very customary. We always bow to our guests. He should know better." Cult picked his head up and looked away and said, "You have no breast." I immediately grabbed my chest and turned away. Shane punched Cult in the head while Kairo jabbed him in the gut.

"Sorry about him okay? He's a little rude that's why we had him switched to cleaning duty. I'm in charge of the front desk and lounge. Chris is in charge of cooking. Shane is in charge of room service and work duties. Kairo is in charge of the laundry room and business outside this place. We try to have Blaine greet guests but he's shy. Ask us if you need anything ok!" said Haru.

I nodded and smiled but I was still a bit embarrassed. "There's nothing for you to be embarrassed about. We see all types of flat-chest girls all the time." said Kairo. My eyes widen and I thought what have I gotten myself into.

"Oh watch out for this one ok Mai? He's a huge pervert." said Shane. "Yeah he might actually sneak in your bedroom at night." Chris added on. "Hey I only did that one time! And come on she was practically asking for it." said Kairo.

I tried to ignore what I was hearing but I couldn't. Blaine grabbed a catalog and asked me which package would I like. He was totally nervous and shaking all over. Then I totally remembered what I was there for. "I'm actually here for the help wanted sign out front." I said.

"Oh we completely forgot that was up there. Sorry but we're not really looking for anyone right now." I then pleaded, "Please hire me! I have nowhere else to turn. I'm homeless!"

They all stood there silent and they huddled together like football players calling plays to one another.

Haru clapped his hands and said, "Ok welcome to our team Mai!"

I was so happy they were letting me stay. Then my face turned sour when Kairo said, "You can stay but you'll have to work on cleaning duties with Cult. We'll pay you in food and lodgings as you said."

"Well Cult what are you just standing there for show her upstairs." said Shane. Cult took me upstairs and I could tell that he was not pleased.

"What are you staring at?!" Cult said as he folded blankets.

"Nothing" I said, as I swept the floors. I wiped the walls while he stood there staring at me.

"What?! I yelled looking at the floor. It was really awkward to be alone with him after he was rude and said those things about me. He sat back on the bed and crossed his arms. He stared at me in rage, shaking his head.

"Do you have a problem with me or something?" I said. This guy was getting on my nerves! It's hard to believe that he really saved me that day.

"You're pathetic you know that? And you want to know why people hate you so much. But I have to say that was bold. Bowing and pleading like that." He said, as he held his face.

"So you do remember me. Why would you act like you didn't! You saved me that day I'm really- but he cut me off and yelled, "Look I don't know what you're getting at but I don't give a damn about you! I only helped you because I had nothing better to do. I was just bored."

I threw a pillow at the back of his head and said, "You jerk! Here I thought you were the nicest guy in the world but you're no better than everyone else! I didn't ask for your help you could have left me there to bleed to death!" "Now that you mention it I think you were better off. You're right I should've left you there! That way I won't have to see you here! No wonder you get beat up everyday you can't keep your mouth shut!" He said looking down at me. I felt as though his eyes were piercing through my soul. I don't know what came over me but I got so mad that I actually slapped him.

It was quiet for a few minutes and then Cult smirked and said, "Wow you finally have a backbone." I don't really know why that is either but somehow when I'm arguing with Cult, I feel like I can do anything. I thought as long as I stayed by his side I would be safe and maybe it was ok to let my guard down.

"You really piss me off! To think I actually saved someone as worthless as you!" He said.

"What is your problem with me huh?! And what's so great about you! You have flaws just as much as I do! At least I'm not rubbing it in your face! You're not even like this, it's almost as if you put on a show." I yelled. Before I knew it Cult grabbed my wrist and threw me on the bed. He climbed on top of me, I couldn't help that my face was red in this moment.

"Cult what are doing? Get off me!" I said as I tried to push him off me. He grabbed my wrists and pinned my hands to the bed with a tight grip.

He lowered his head and said, "What do you know about me huh!? What right do you have to say that!" He twisted my wrists and even though it hurt, all I could think about was how his breath smelt like onions and dog poo. I know it wasn't something to think about but what can you do when someone's yelling in your face with bad breath. It got silent and awkward and for a second I thought he was going to kiss me. But I quickly turned my face and said, "Please don't! You're breath stinks!"

Cult look shocked and then he covered his mouth. He got really mad and said, "I wasn't going to kiss you b***h!" He loosened his grip on my wrists and climbed off the bed. He threw the blankets over me aggressively and said, "Clean this s**t up!" as he stomped out the room. I shouldn't have said that. No one wants to hear that their breath stinks especially in that position.

I felt so bad I said that to Cult. He must've been so embarrassed. The next day I spent my day cleaning the bed rooms by myself. I thought maybe Cult felt weird being around me. After I was done I saw Blaine in the library reading to himself.

"Good morning Blaine" I said bowing my head to him. He turned to me and bowed but he didn't say a word. He just returned to reading his book.

"He doesn't talk much around girls. He's really shy." said Shane.

"Oh good morning Shane!" I said. "Please no need to bow. Feel free to talk naturally to me. By the way Mai; I need to talk to you."

"So what is it you wanted to talk about?" I said anxiously.

He crossed his arms and said, "Well yesterday afternoon we got some complaints from the guests about you and Cult. If it's going to be a problem then I'll- I cut him off mid sentence and I yelled, "Please don't fire me! I really need this job.

I promise I won't argue with Cult." He chuckled and said, "Um I'm not going to fire you. I was just going say I'll have you switch in between shifts. Meaning that you'll help each of us out according to a schedule."

I sighed with relief and said, "Oh ok that seems fair." "Ok starting tomorrow you'll be on a schedule. Haru' s writing it up now." He said walking off. I was so relieved that I wasn't going to be fired.

Saying that I wasn't going to argue with him was easier said than done. He just crawls up my skin. I can't help but to get worked up over him. He just ticks me off! And I don't know why, maybe I was starting to feel some sort of consideration for him or maybe I felt comfortable around him. Knowing that, it was likely for him to feel the same way as me.

"Good morning Haru" I said with excitement. Haru smiled and handed me my schedule for tomorrow. It didn't seem that difficult.

"Um Haru I was wondering have you seen Cult anywhere? I haven't seen him all day and I want to apologize for something I said yesterday."

"Cult? I haven't seen him either. Kairo have you seen Cult?" Kairo sighed softly and said, "He's visiting that woman..."

"That woman?" I thought. What could that have meant? Does Cult have a girlfriend somewhere? Just thinking about that made my stomach and my heart pound. Why was I feeling that way? Later I tried to wait up for Cult but I ended up passing out on the couch. As I slept I thought I felt a warm hand caress my face. I opened my eyes and I saw a dark figure. I thought it was Cult or at least I hoped that it was. I awoken slowly but the figure was gone. Morning came around and I immediately ran upstairs to check if Cult was back. Completely ignoring my assigned job.

"Cult! where did you go yesterday?" I said. Cult looked at me and turned back to folding sheets. "Why is that any of your business?" he said.

"It's just that I waited all night for you, so that I could apologize for what I said the other day." I said.

Cult smirked and said, "You waited all night just to tell me that? You must like me right?" I was shocked and my whole face turned red.

I turned away in denial and said, "As if I would dear like you! Why are bothering me I have some work to do." "You're the one who came up here bothering me. I should be the one saying that." He said. My face still red from blushing, I turned to Cult and said, "Anyways I'm sorry for what I said." I hurried and I ran downstairs.

Chris saw me and the hall and said, "Why is your face so red? Were you and Cult doing something suspicious?" "What no?! I have no idea what you're talking about?" Chris laughed and then he went into the kitchen. I followed after him and helped with the dishes.

School rolled back around and as always I wasn't ready to go. I was almost there but my knees wouldn't stop shaking. Cult left way earlier and didn't even wait for me. I was in front of the school gate now, I was nervous to go in when I saw Cult talking with one of our classmates. I didn't want to intrude on them so I quietly walked in through the side of the building. I walked into class, I felt awkward and weird. As I headed for my sit I noticed that my desk was gone. Everyone in the classroom laughed at me and threw paper balls at me. Then I felt someone behind me grab me push me. I felt myself heading for the window. I nearly fell out the window but then Cult grabbed me and sat me on his lap.

"Listen up! All of you. This girl is my girlfriend! I'm warning you, if any of you touch her again I'LL KILL YOU!!!" When Cult said that I couldn't help but blush. My heart was pounding rapidly and I felt butterflies in the pit of my stomach.

"Cult what are you doing? What if a teacher sees this." I said still blushing with redness.

"Just play along with it for now." He whispered as he looked out the window. Sitting there on his lap I couldn't believe I was actually this close to him besides that night when he climbed on me. I couldn't help but notice the evil glares I was getting but I just ignored them. When lunch came around Cult and I set on the rooftop. It was really awkward with the two of us. Usually I would eat in the bathroom or sometimes I wouldn't eat at all.

"What's wrong?" Cult said puzzled. I crossed my arms over my legs and said, "Cult why would you say something like that? Wouldn't they hate me even more because of you?"

"They won't bother you anymore. I made sure of that this morning." He said, biting his sandwich. Was that what he and that other guy were talking about this morning? I looked at him and started blushing. Even the way he ate was cute. Did this mean that I was actually falling for Cult?

"Hey after school I can't walk home with you so you'll be on your own alright." He said stuffing the last piece of food in his mouth.

"Huh? Uh why not?" I said.

Cult stretched and said, "Because I have somewhere to be that's all."

The rest of the day went by with ease. It felt kind of weird that no one was picking on me today. After school I didn't want to go home, so I stayed in school. I know worst Idea ever but if I went home I would have to work. I just wanted a day to myself for once. I walked in the art room. No one was around so I thought I come in and paint for a while. I haven't painted in a long time. Not since my freshman year. I didn't know what to paint but I painted something, whatever it was that flew into my mind. I was deep into the painting almost as if I was under hypnosis.

Then a low but deep voice behind me said, "That's beautiful." I jumped out my sit and nervously said, "Oh I'm sorry there was no one here and I thought I just... I'm sorry!"

"It's ok. I don't mind, it gets pretty lonely in here sometimes. Please continue. " She said. I couldn't believe she was being nice to me, on top of that her voice was deep as hell. She smiled and said her name was Mimi Hashirama. She was the same age as me and she love to paint just as much as I use to.

"Excuse me but Why are you being so nice to me?" I said.

"What do you mean?" she said.

"Well usually no one at this school ever does. I'm just not use to this." I said.

She turned towards me and bowed. Then she said, "I'm so sorry! I always feel bad when the others pick on you. I always get the urge to stop them but somehow I tend to lose my voice. I'm sorry!" My eyes widen and I was shocked. I didn't expect this from her.

"It's ok you really don't have to apologize. It's not like you started this."

Mimi looked down at the floor and then she nervously said, "Actually it kind of is.... My first year here I saw a red tape on my locker. I didn't know what it meant so, I put it on the locker next to mine. I didn't know it was your locker and soon after that everyone was bullying you. I'm so sorry! I'm so sorry Mai!"

Mimi dropped to the floor and started crying. I didn't know what to think or to say. This whole situation was a big misunderstanding. I wanted to slap her and yell at her but I couldn't. I just sat there and hugged her and told her that it was alright and I forgive her. Mimi and I talked that whole afternoon and we completely forgot about the time. We were heading out of the room when I heard someone screaming my name from outside of the building. Mimi and I were heading out to the front gate when I heard Cult call out to me.

"Mai!!!!" Cult yelled.

Immediately Mimi and I stopped and waited for Cult to catch up to us. "Cult what's wrong? why are you screaming my name like that?" I said.

Cult stopped to catch his breath and then he yelled, "You i***t! When Blaine said you didn't come home I thought something happened to you! Do you have any idea how worried I was?! You have to tell us if you're not coming home!"

Cult was so furious at me. I've never seen him this mad before. Even Mimi had gotten a little frightened by him. "I'm sorry we just lost track of time. I didn't mean to worry you." I said.

Cult looked away and said, "I wasn't the only one worried.... My brothers were worried about you too." He said slightly blushing. We walked Mimi home and Cult and I headed back to our house.

We walked in the door and as soon as I walked in, I was greeted by all the brothers. They all were worried and yelling at me.

"Next time please tell us where you are ok? It's not safe for a young girl to be walking around at night" said Kairo.

"Yeah I don't know what I'll do if something ever happened to you. Cult told us what's been happening at school. That's terrible." said Haru.

"You're like a little sister to us so please don't worry us like this Mai." said Chris. I bowed my head and apologized to everyone. I felt happy and I wanted to cry. So this is what it felt like to have someone worry about you? I never experienced this before so I tried my best not to make them worry too much. My eyes began to water and I felt Cult's hand pat my head.

It felt warm....

"What the heck is this? You added twice as much work! Why?" I said.

"Well because of yesterday. You were late coming home, So every time you're late I'll add more work." said Shane.

"But I thought you said I was like family?" I said.

"You are! And you get the same treatment as everyone else. If they f**k up they get more work too. So you might want to remember that next time."

He said while laughing historically. Today was my shift to work with Kairo in the laundry room. I was collecting sheets and clothes for the wash when I overheard Cult arguing with someone on the phone. I stood at the door trying to hear what he was yelling about. Then he opened the door fiercely.

"You know it's not good to eavesdrop." he said staring at me.

"I wasn't I was coming for the laundry." I said showing him the basket. He brushed passed me and said they were in the room. Then he rushed down the stairs and told Haru he was leaving.

"Where do you think you're going?" said Kairo.

"Nowhere I just need to head somewhere really quick." said Cult.

"If you're going to see her don't! Your only wasting your time." said Kairo.

"You don't know anything about it! So stay out of my business!" Cult said as he raced out of the door. It was hard not to hear their conversation when the laundry room was right next door. Then Kairo came in mumbling to himself.

"I know you heard so why aren't you asking?" He said.

"It's not my place to but into your business. But maybe you should let him do what he wants. He has to learn on his own." I said.

Kairo smirked and then he said, "I thought it wasn't your place?" He walked over to me and put his arm around my neck.

"You know maybe I should listen to you. If he wants to get hurt I should just let him" he sighed.

When he said this I wondered what type of woman Cult was seeing. And why was he in such a hurry to get to her. I waited up for Cult, when he returned it was almost 3 in the morning."What are you still doing up?"

He said as he took of his shoes and placed them in the shelf. "I had some extra work so I decided to wait for you." I said rubbing my eyes.

"You would have been waiting a long time if I didn't come back." He said smirking.

I was worried about him and he had time to joke like that. "You're bleeding!" I said grabbing his hand.

"Oh I didn't even notice." He said. I grabbed the first aid kit and started cleaning and patching up his hand.

"Cult I know it's none of my business but- "So don't ask!" He said snatching his hand away. "You don't have to be so rude! I was only just concerned about you." I said angrily.

He slammed the table and said, "I'm so sick of people being in my business! I never asked you to worry about me so don't! It's my life and what I do in it has nothing to with you!" I'm such a hypocrite.

I was just telling Kairo to stay out of it and I go and do the same thing. "Why do you always have to be such a jerk?! Why can't you see that we're only trying to look out for you. Not only your brothers but me as well!" I said that and out of nowhere my eyes just started balling. Cult looked at me and it's like he didn't even care how I felt.

"You love me don't you?" He said and his voice sounded so cold. Was I in love with Cult? Was that the reason why my heart ached?

Before I could say anything Cult grabbed me and pinned me to the wall. I hit my head on the picture frame. He covered his hand over my mouth while he kissed up and down my neck. I wanted to scream. I tried to push him away but it's like my body was paralyzed. What was going on with him and why was he taking it out on me? He gripped my hand and held it against the wall tightly so I couldn't break free. He started unwrapping my shirt with his free hand.

"Cult stop what are you doing?! Stop it!" I gasped.

"You love me don't you? If you do just give yourself to me. I'm good just ask my girlfriend, I make love to her every night." He said this as he slid his hand up my leg.

"Stop it! I yelled, my face drenched with tears. I couldn't take anymore so I slapped him. The hardest I could.

Cult held his face and said, "Please you're not worth it. I don't even get a rise from you. I was just testing to see your reaction."

I fell to the ground crying as I tried to cover my body with my shirt. The lights came on and that's when the others came jogging down the stairs.

"What the hell is going on down here?" said Blaine.

I cried, "He...He!" but I couldn't get the words out. I just sat there crying. Haru put his robe around me and held onto me. "She's shaking" he said.

Kairo grabbed Cult by the collar and yelled, "You bastard what the f**k did you do to her?!" Cult stood there silent not saying anything.

"Haru you take her upstairs and get her changed. While we straighten out this brother of ours." said Shane.

"I'm not prone to fighting so I'll run Mai a hot bath." said Blaine. Chris went in the kitchen and grabbed a couple of ice packs from the freezer.

"Just get this over with already so I can go to bed." said Chris.

"I'm going to ask you one more time! what the f**k did you do to her Cult!" yelled Kairo.

"if you said it a nicer way maybe I'll tell you." said Cult.

"You think this is a game?!" said Kairo as he punched Cult in the face. They couldn't get a answer from him so they just kept pounding on him until he told. I weren't there to see it but I could hear the sounds of punches and tables moving about.

"Alright That's enough! get off him Kairo!" said Blaine. Chris handed him and Shane an ice pack and went back to bed.

"It's a good thing we didn't have customers tonight..." said Haru.

"you call that a beating? Cult laughed. Mai's had worse beatings compared to what you two gave me." said Cult.

"You want more jackass!" Kairo yelled. Shane held him back and Cult got up and walked out the door.

"Go to her if you want to! Her husband's going to do you much worse!" Kairo yelled angrily.

"Let him go. He's not going to listen anyways." sighed Blaine.

"Anyways how's Mai?" Shane added on. "She's still shaken up but after her bath she went to sleep." said Haru.

"Which we all need to do" added Blaine.

"Going to sleep isn't going to change anything! Cult's still going to act that way regardless." said Kairo. "You need a chill pill. Come on let's get you a nice cup of gin and half a sleeping pill." said Haru while pushing him in the kitchen.

That night I couldn't fall asleep...

Even though I should be furious with Cult, I wasn't. I just kept thinking about him and I worried if something was wrong and he wasn't told us. Things like that just kept flowing into my mind...

Days have passed and Cult still hasn't come home yet. He hasn't shown up for school either. I just kept thinking about him and that day when his hands were all over my body. I know I shouldn't and I should be mad but for some reason I can't stay mad at him.

"Mai come down to eat. Haru made breakfast." said Shane. I set down to eat but I really didn't feel like eating. "Y-you don't like my food?!" Haru gasped. He looked like he was going to cry.

"I do it's just that I don't feel like eating right now." I said.

"You don't have to lie to him Mai. You can tell him if you don't like his food" said Chris.

Everyone laughed and the room got silent when Cult walked through the door.

"What're you doing here? Come to apologize to Mai I hope." said Kairo.

"Not likely. I just came for some clothes." He said.

I didn't want to look at him so I grabbed my bag and headed out for school. Mimi cleared up the situation at school but that still never stopped them from giving me dirty looks everyday. Cult still hasn't shown up and when he did; he never said anything to me. I wanted to talk to him and tell him that I missed him but I think it's for the best if I kept my mouth shut. After school Mimi and I decided to go shopping. And this time I made sure to tell the brothers where I was going. After the shopping Mimi went home and I walked around for a bit. And that's when I saw them. Cult and the woman he loved... He was holding her and crying. I have never seen Cult cry before. He looked liked he was hurting deeply and I couldn't bare to see that sight any longer.

After seeing Cult with her; My heart hurt. He was holding her so tightly close to him. I just wanted to crawl into a ball and just cry. I was in love with Cult and seeing him with another girl just made it much worse. The bath house was closed for today so the guys decided to throw a little barbeque in the yard. Shane and Haru danced, while Chris and Blaine worked the grill. It was fun getting to know the brothers but it wasn't that fun without Cult there. I know I'm starting to sound obsessed but what can you do? I set there squeezing my pants when I felt Kairo's arm on my head.

"Why are you so pouty today Mai?!" He said while rubbing my head. I looked up but I didn't say anything.

"Mai I was just about to head out for some ice. Do you want to come with?" He said. I shook my head no, but he grabbed me anyways and we headed in town for some ice.

"I thought we were going to get some ice. Why are we here?" I said. He sighed and then he took out a pack of cigarettes and started smoking.

"I haven't been to this place in 3 years... I remember I was sitting right here, when I saw a young girl sitting on this bridge. I thought she must have been really sad about something. Then out of nowhere she just jumped." He said as he blew out smoke. I gasped and I turned towards him. My eyes sparkled and I covered my lips.

"Kairo you!" I said trying to hold back my tears.

"I went back hoping to see her again but she never returned. I waited and waited but there was no sign of her. And then she showed up at our house asking for a place to live. My heart pumped and I was happy to see her once more. The girl I saved, the girl I fell in love with that day..." He said softly.

I couldn't believe it Kairo was the one who saved me that day.

"Did you hear me Mai? I love you!" He said grabbing my shoulders. He leaned in to kiss me but then he just grabbed and hugged me.

"I've been watching you for a while now Mai. You love Cult don't you?" He said.

His hands gripped me tightly. I felt so safe in his arms. I could hear Kairo's heart, it was beating so fast. Kairo was in love with me but I only liked him as a friend... I should've accepted him but I was too hung up on his brother.

"If you need anything I'm here. I'll always be here if you need a shoulder to cry on." He said still holding me in his arms. I didn't say anything after that but Kairo and I stayed there under the bridge just hugging.

"Where have you two been? And what happened to the ice?" said Shane.

"Oh sorry we completely forgot. Why don't you run out and get it?" Kairo said patting Shane on the shoulder. I felt relieved now that I knew who saved me that day. I was thankful to Kairo for saving me. If he hadn't then; I wouldn't have met him or his brothers or even Mimi for that matter. I wouldn't have felt the love of a family or even belonging to one.

I'M THANKFUL....
