ALONE TIME

Egon finally left with that silly smile on his face. He had to take Ellie with him because of the permission to be taken out of the company. But even after he left, Nala was smiling. This day is definitely one of the better ones in my life. She found out all about me, and she didn't run away. She found out what my job was and remained completely cool. It was at that moment that I realized that I did not love her but adored her. She's mine! Now and forever, mine. "Thank you, Victor." she said sitting on my lap again. "For what, angel?" "Thank you for trusting me. Thank you for not hiding anything from me." she kissed me after every sentence. “It kills me that I had to hide.” I told her honestly. "I was afraid I would lose you once you found out the truth, that you would run away from me." "Well, that's a job too ..." she smiled sweetly at me. "Maybe we'll have something in common." "Do you think I'm a monster?" "No, for God's sake! But I would never have thought ..." she paused. "Let's leave that story for the future." "I'm hungry." I sighed. "I didn't want to wake you by banging in the kitchen ..." , "Oh, my dear, let's feed you." she smiled. "I don't like it when a baby is hungry." She made me breakfast, but not for herself. I hate when I have to eat alone. I smiled when I saw that there was still a sticky note on the fridge. I wrote "EAT" because we were still at war over food. I saw that the coffee cups were still drying after washing and there were too many of them. "Did you eat?" I asked even though I already knew the answer. "I wasn't hungry." she shrugged. "There's time until lunch." "Nalla, how much coffee did you drink?" "Not close enough to start the day." "Come here." I pulled out a chair and patted the seat next to me. "It's time to eat." "I'm really not hungry ... at least not food." "You're not going to get me into that game until you're done with breakfast." I laughed because I knew what she was thinking. "I didn't get a chance to ask you, everything ok down there?" "I think everything's fine. Nothing hurts, if that worries you." "Great. Eat. I won't say it again." When she realized there was really no choice she joined me at the table. She asked me questions about the job, how it works, how someone becomes one at all. I answered some questions, some remained silent. I said that her physical fitness would come first if she wanted to work. That she would have to change her mental structure in order to survive without consequences. And she asked me how she felt ... And I didn't know how to answer her. It was Sunday, the day I would take her home. And I wanted to spend some more time with her. I was afraid that she would change her mind. That she won't want anything to do with me anymore ... "Let's go." I said removing the plates from the table. "Where?" she asked, confused by my silence and sudden decision. "I have no idea. I just want to go somewhere. Anywhere." "Somewhere for a drink?" she asked. "Let's go to the amusement park. After that we can go to the zoo and have lunch." "You're nervous ..." she said gently. "And you wouldn't be?" I looked at her. "Victor, I don't mean to run away from you for the work you do. You're not your job, at least not when it comes to me." she said holding my hand. "I'm not afraid of you. It's all part of you. You could have been something else, you could have been an undertaker ... I love you no matter what." "What are you going to tell people when they ask you what I do? What lies are we going to have to remember?" "The first thing is why would anyone dig into our lives? And the second thing is ... who really cares what others think of us?" After that brief conversation, she went to get ready to go out. I liked to see her in a relaxed dress, but she liked to walk through the city tidy and proud to be with me. And she had no idea how proud I was of her. She became everything in the world to me, someone without whom I couldn't and didn't want to live. My best half. That little girl packed all the virtues that anyone could imagine in her meter and a half. FLASHBACK-BIRTHDAY DRESS "Come on, baby, pick a dress while we're still young." "They're too expensive." she sighed, looking at the price of one of the five dresses that went into "maybe this" choice. "Choose a dress. Don't pay attention to the labels. I want you to feel like a queen, which you are." After more than half an hour of arguing about the dresses and their prices, I told the saleswoman to choose the three most impressive ones. The ones that would catch everyone's eye. One of them was the color of champagne and I saw Nalla's shy smile that told me everything. So that was her choice. After our purchase, Vlad and Jacques joined us. We went hunting for the perfect shoes together. Vlad's girlfriend was a hairdresser and make-up artist, Jacques paid (and gilded) the shoes that the little girl chose. She was angry with us, firstly because we spent a lot of money, and secondly because she didn't want to celebrate her birthday at all. "You're his girlfriend." Jacques was patient as he explained their behavior to her. "And that's how you become our sister. One of us. We'll always be there, for you and the two of you. Whatever this jerk does, and something will happen for sure, you have us, who will gladly do the beating. Nothing is too expensive for our girls and no birthday goes by without a party. End of conversation. You have no right to sulk. " ****END OF FLASHBACK***********
