Meeting the In-Laws

They both turned toward the door at the same time. A young woman stood there, arms crossed, glaring straight at Su Ning like she wanted to set her on fire with her eyes alone. "Mo Xue, you b***h," she snapped. "Let go of my brother." Su Ning frowned and stood up as Gu Chen slowly pushed himself off the bed. Su Ning's eyes eyeballs glowed lightly as she studied the her, and in an instant, the knowledge simply arrived in her mind, the way it always did. Gu Ruoxi. Twenty years old. Gu Chen's spoiled younger sister. She had hated Mo Xue for years, she hated mo xue, and followed Lu Qing everywhere, saying she was the only woman who deserved her brother. Su Ning scoffed. A blind little fool. "Mo Xue, what exactly do you think you're doing?" Ruoxi walked further into the room. "You sleep around behind my brother's back and now you're trying to seduce him? Have you no shame at all?" Su Ning crossed her arms. "He's my husband. I don't need to seduce what already belongs to me." Gu Chen stared at her, flustered. Was this some kind of blessing from the heavens? a version of Mo Xue who was actually faithful?. So unbelievable. Ruoxi's mouth fell open. "You,...how dare you say that! My brother's heart belongs to Sister Lu Qing, not you!" Su Ning rolled her eyes. "You mean that green tea b***h? Is her name on the marriage certificate? Is her face in the wedding photos? If she dares to have her eyes on my husband, i will pluck her eyes out." Gu Chen smiled a little, this Immortal princess is fierced. He thought. Ruoxi's lips tightened in anger. "My brother is going to divorce you. Lu Qing is the only woman in his heart." Su Ning turned to Gu Chen, one eyebrow raised. "Is that true?" He shook his head and faced ruoxi. "Ruoxi. Enough. Apologize to your sister-in-law." "What?" Her eyes widened. "Never!" She turned around and stormed out, almost colliding with the housekeeper in the doorway. Wang Ma, still pale from earlier, stared at Su Ning with disbelief before finally facing Gu Chen. "Sir... your parents have arrived." Su Ning's eyes narrowed. His parents? Let see who gave life to such a handsome prince. She thought and walked past Gu Chen toward the stairs. Wang Ma watched her go, still trembling slightly. Gu Chen walked to the woman. "Wang ma, she is not mo xue." Her eyes widened in shock as he continued. ------ Downstairs, Mr. and Mrs. Gu were seated in the living room, just returned from a trip abroad. So, definitely they knew nothing about mo Xue's accidents or funeral. As Su Ning walked down the stairs, her eyes glowed faintly again, and everything about Mrs. Gu unfolded in her mind at one glance. A beautiful, capable woman, the true breadwinner behind the Gu family's fortune, born into wealth herself, married for decades to a man who wasn't only unfaithful, but also scheming to seize all her family assets and dump her, despite having two grown children, agh so despicable!. What a household of hypocrites, Su Ning thought. The moment Mrs. Gu saw her, she got up and started pointing her finger. "You shameless girl." She said. "If it weren't for the debt we owe your family, who would ever agree to have someone as indecent as you, in the Gu family? You cheated on my son, and now every media outlet in the city has it plastered everywhere, ruining this family's reputation." Su Ning walked to Mrs Gu and stared at the finger pointing at her. She gave her a death glare and slapped her finger to the side. "You can talk, don't point your finger at me" she said and walked to the nearest chair, sat down, and crossed her legs. Mrs Gu placed one hand on her chest, like she was having a heart attack. "You...." Gu Ruoxi stepped forward and also pointedher finger at Su Ning. "Mo xue, how dare you talk to mother like that" Su Ning got up angrily, crossed the room and slapped Ruoxi hard. "Are you deaf? Don't you know pointing your finger at a princess is disrespectful?" "You... how dare you hit me? Are you insane.." Mr. Gu cut in, slamming a hand down on the armrest. "Enough of this. You and Chen are getting a divorce. Today." Su Ning blinked. Divorce? Could it be what they call - partition in their own world?, a separation from one's husband? Her eyes widened. "I am not getting a divorce," she said almost instantly. I haven't even explore my husband yet. How could I possibly part from him now? Besides, I'm only interested in him, not his family. If anymore dares to provoke me. I will show them exactly why they call me the Devil reincarnated princess. "Do you think you have a say in this?" Mr. Gu snapped his fingers, and two guards stepped forward from the hallway, moving toward her. Su Ning simply rolled her eyes, lifted two fingers, and flicked them lazily through the air. Both guards went flying backward, hitting the wall like they'd been struck by an invisible truck. The room went dead silent. How did she.. Gu Chen walked to them and faced his parents. "Mom. Dad. Stop this. I'm not getting a divorce." "Chen, you're clearly bewitched by this woman." Mrs Gu said. "What exactly is your problem?" Su Ning yelled. "Can't you hear what my husband said? We are doing very well together." Mr. Gu's frowned. "Enough! You dare cheat on my son and then refuse to let him go?" Su Ning tilted her head. "It's strange, isn't it? Even a cheater has the nerve to lecture someone about cheating." "What did you just say?" "You have eleven girlfriends, and a pending twelve," she said simply. "And you dare speak to me about shame?" The room froze. Mrs. Gu's head snapped toward her husband. Ruoxi gasped. "You..." How... how did she.. Mr. Gu thought, face draining of color. "I am pure and decent," she added, "I have never cheated on anyone in my life!, and you dare call me a cheater?, you filthy pig." Su Ning moved closer to him, and Mr Gu stumbled back a little. "Do you know what I do to men like you? If I don't kill them, I castrate them." Everyone in the room flinched. "Don't slander me!" he said and faced Gu Chen. "Chen, something is seriously wrong with her! Go have her head checked, she is insane!" Su Ning's eyes widened. "How dare you call me a fool. I will.." Before she could finish, Gu Chen grabbed her wrist and pulled her straight into his chest, cutting her off. She landed against him with a soft thud, one hand pressed to his chest, and looked up at his face for a moment, she smiled and pressed her palm flat against his chest and squeezed twice. So hard, she thought, grinning. "Honey," he said, guiding her to sit down on the sofa, "please. Relax." She nodded instantly. Everyone stared shocked, she is actually soft with Gu Chen? Unbelievable. He turned back to his family, the four of them moved closer and far from her. "Mom. Dad. She had an accident. She lost part of her memory. I think, in her mind, she still believes we just got married." He whispered. It was a lie, the only believable lie that could make sense out of everything they just witnessed. Mrs. Gu studied Su Ning with a suspicious gaze. "She's definitely acting strange." "What if she's faking it," Ruoxi cut in, "just so she doesn't have to sign the divorce papers?" Gu Chen reached over and flicked her forehead. She yelped and rubbed the spot, pouting. "She really has lost it," Mr. Gu whispered back taking the opportunity. "She even said I have eleven girlfriends." From the sofa, Su Ning let out a scoff. Fool. If you weren't my husband's father, I would have had your head by now. She could hear all their whispers perfectly, though none of them seemed to realize it. "For now," Gu Chen said, "let's not do anything to upset her." His parents exchanged a long look, then finally nodded. "Then... we'll be on our way," Mrs. Gu said with a forced smile, gathering her things. The three of them walked out without another word, still glancing back at Su Ning. The moment the door shut behind them, Su Ning stood up and crossed the room straight to Gu Chen, circling her arms around his neck before he could react. "Honey," she called, "shall we continue where we left off?" Her hands moved up his chest, and Wang Ma, seeing what was happening from the hallway, immediately turned and fled in the opposite direction. Gu Chen gulped and gently peeled her hands off him. "I- I need to go to the office." He said, and walked toward the stairs, leaving her standing alone in the living room. He wasn't used to a clingy Mo Xue, although he loved it, and the fact that he knew, deep down, this wasn't even Mo Xue at all, made him a hundred times interested in her, without knowing why. Su Ning pouted and sat on the sofa, arms crossed. Her elbow bumped the remote, and the television switched on with a loud burst of noise. She screamed and flung her hand out on instinct. There was a sharp crack, a shower of sparks, and the television exploded into pieces across the living room floor. Gu Chen came back hearing the sound, and halted in shock. He stared at the smoking wreckage where his television used to be, then at Su Ning, sitting perfectly composed on the sofa like nothing had happened at all.
