Twenty-two Felicity had her arms tight around Benjamin and was doing her best to listen to the conversation that he seemed to be having with himself. The breadth of the English countryside passed beneath them in swathes of shadow and streaks of light. She felt close to her brother, closer than she ever had been, as if a fissure had opened and she could sense the music that was spilling from his mind, albeit via Benjamin. She wished she could have heard it before so she might then know what she could do to help. Her brother always needed a helping hand, most especially as he never knew when his footing was coming loose, or had given way altogether. She closed her eyes and leaned forward, pressing her head gently into Benjamin’s shoulders while he continued his conversation back and forth,
