Chapter TwelveThey had gotten sloshed at Drysdale's, literally, the first time they ever met. It happened a few weeks after Neal and Susan moved to the Big Island, while they were living in an apartment in Kailua-Kona and waiting for the probate problems with George Akoki's will to be resolved. Neal went for a walk around the bay by himself one evening and ended up wandering into Don Drysdale's Club 53, a bayside watering hole that served burgers and drinks with PG-rated names. He grabbed a stool at the bar and ordered a beer, and when it came he drank unhurriedly, enjoying the breeze.
