As if we hadn't headaches enough, Mother had a sudden seizure and fell into a coma. She was taken to hospital and landed in an emergency ward. Attending to her became the prime concern for Liz and Meg. Lukas spent time at her bedside. I went to see her once and spoke to her doctor. But the signs weren't good, and she never regained consciousness. She died a week later. The doctors labelled the cause a cerebral stroke.
