CHAPTER 22 Full of hope and good cheer, Meg and I boarded the mid-morning Lufthansa flight to Heathrow on Thursday. We planned on a two-day trip and were travelling light. Julia had seen to our luggage check-in earlier, and we went straight through to the business-class lounge. At that hour, the spacious rooms were almost deserted. The wave of early-morning travellers already behind us. We took seats with a view of the apron and the planes, but I saw nothing, my mind elsewhere. After being served coffee, we went through our presentation again. I felt satisfied with it. Having worked for an international bank for so long, I had learned how to package a business concept that got results: namely short and sweet and to the point.
