The next morning, Rae set an alarm on her phone for five p.m. before she even got out of bed. She was determined to leave when the alarm went off. Leave the rec center. Leave whatever work she hadn’t finished. Leave town and get out to Steeple Ridge, where Ben said he’d have Capone saddled and ready to ride.
