Chapter 10Birdie had warned that the trail to the howling cliffs was steep. The Kahawai trail led into the valley and was mostly flat. Take the Mauna trail, she had said. That was the steep one. Once at the plateau on the Mauna, it would be a great place to exercise pets, not to mention the climb being aerobic for humans too. Then there were the spectacular views over a wide lush canyon.
