Verse 4 The next day Jerome left the house to teach his class, without seeing Uri. He trusted Uri not to steal because he was certain that he would not know any better. Above Jerome’s head, Formica halls buzzed with fluorescent lights as he entered his school. A power surge made him think paparazzi were waiting for him even though they never had been before. As Uri was waking, Jerome was waving the original forgery he had created the night before in his hand. He decried the powers that had always been and certainly were now. Then he distributed xeroxed copies of his forgery to his students and told them to read it over. Every artist should have his moment of glory. This one felt like it could never end for it had always been baked into history. Yet it did, and then the lesson began. He
