The Alpha’s Healer Mate

Luna ceremony

After the challenge, I realize that I am kinda sore, my knuckles are raw and bleeding. My elbow is also bruised from breaking Melody’s knee cap. I also am wondering how her body healed when she shifted, that’s not normal, hence why healers like me are needed. I decide to ask about it while we head back to the pack house. “Why did Melody heal after shifting into her wolf? I have never seen something like that before”. Alex replies, “Have you heard of half breeds?”, “Yes I have, they are super rare though right?” I ask. He replies back, “well Melody is a half wolf half witch. Her mother was a wolf and her father was a witch from the bright field clan. Each one has a specific power, hers was that she can heal herself but it only happens when she shifts into another form”. I am completely surprised, wolfs don’t generally get pregnant unless it is their mate, it’s the goddesses way of trying to protect mates from abusing each other or ones child, so it really is rare for half breeds unless they are mates. I nod in response and stay quite for the rest of the trip to the pack house. I stop quick at the kitchen and make a sandwich, I was terribly hungry from the fight and ate the whole sandwich in a few bites. I head upstairs with Alex following me. Once in our room I notice that Alex has a first aid kit. “Mate, go bathe to get all the dirt and grime off of you, then I will go ahead and bandage your hands”. I smile at my mate trying to take care and comfort me in his own way, I go up to him and say. “Thank you my mate”, and kiss him quick on his lips. The surprise on his face is quite cute, I dash into the bathroom and lock the door hearing my mates chuckle on the other side. I take a quick shower and wash my hair getting all the dirt and sweat off of my body. I then towel off the water and exit the bathroom. My mate is sitting on the bed with the first aid kit. I don’t make eye contact embarrassed that I’m only in a towel and head to the closet to get a tee shirt and cotton shorts for a relaxing afternoon. I change quickly and head back to the bed, I sit down and Alex takes my hands without saying anything. He puts some salve on my busted up knuckles and then wraps them up for me. I then thank him and lay down in the bed, I turn on the streaming service and chose the movie Pretty Woman, a good romantic classic. Alex lays down right beside me, he did a little extra work yesterday so he could lounge with me today, he then says,” the Luna Ceremony is tomorrow, the dress just came in this morning, Roxanne plans to help you get ready if you would like?”. I smile up at him and reply, “ I would really appreciate it if she did”. I see Alex get a far off look on his face as he mindlinks Mark about having his mate help me tomorrow. I relax and start the movie, just when she is showing those women who made fun of her at the shop I feel my eyes getting heavy, and with that I fall asleep. What I don’t notice as I am asleep is my mate covering me in the blanket and kissing my forehead. “Sleep well my mate, dream of our future, tomorrow you will be mine, and no one can take you away from me. I will protect you with everything I have, I already love you”.

******the day of the ceremony******

I wake up to a knock at the door.

“Luna can I come in?” Asks Roxanne. “Come In” I yell. Roxanne comes in with a big ole tote full of products. She sets the bag down in front of me showing me the different hair products , makeup, shoes, and jewelry she brought. I hug her and thank her for her help, “ it is no problem at all Luna, I’m just happy to see our Alpha so happy, I honestly hope we can be come good friends that can complain about our mates together”. We laugh together at this and Roxanne gets to work, she says “ your dress is getting steamed ironed at the moment but here is a picture of it”. Roxanne holds up her phone and shows me a picture of a white mermaid style dress. It is modest in the front with lace details and pearls. Then the back is completely gone, and the back has a long train which a button to hold the train after the ceremony. I giggle in excitement of what the dress looks like, Alex picked it out for me as I wanted to be surprised with it. Roxanne then shows me a couple of different hair styles and I go with an updo to show off the back of the dress. Roxanne then gets to work curling and pinning up my hair. Then we get to makeup I decide on a more natural look with light brown on most of my eye with dark brown in the corner to give it dimension, then a shimmery gold on the eyelid. She finishes the eye makeup off with brown eyeliner and mascara, after that she applies a light layer of foundation and concealer, she powders my face, and then puts blush on. To finish off the entire look we go with a semi dark nude lipstick. When Roxanne finishes my lipstick there is another knock on the door Ella walks in with a dress bag in hand, this must be my dress. Roxanne excuses herself to go get ready while Ella helps me get the dress on. We have thirty minutes until its time for the ceremony so we snack on cheese, crackers, meat, and some fruit. Roxanne comes back in with a beautiful fishtail braid and dark red dress for beta females while Ella is wearing a black dress for a gamma female, while my dresses are white when in peace and bright red during a war or battle, these are the ceremonial colors for each of our positions and the males match us in color. Since Alex is already an alpha he doesn’t have to wear white today, he will though just to satisfy my desire to see him wearing ceremonial clothes. He will be in white dress pants and a white button down shirt. He also mentioned he might wear a tie, we shall see it didn’t sound like he was thrilled to do so. Once my dress is on, I stand in front of the mirror to look at myself, I do a quick spin and smile a bright smile. Roxanne does one more squirt of hairspray to make sure my hair doesn’t move and setting spray for my makeup, then we are out the door. Roxanne and Ella leave me at the side of the stage in the Training Arena while they went up on the stage next to their mates for the ceremony. Once I nod at Alex that I am ready he starts the ceremony by giving a short speech about the Luna position in the pack and how she is needed to not only help the Alpha, but also all the members of the pack. After the speech I come on the stage and the crowd has a gasp as they see me in my dress it gives me some more confidence and I am now a lot less nervous. Alex then grabs the chalice for the ceremony, then with a loud voice he starts the next part of the ceremony. “Lela do you promise to be the best Luna you can be? To protect your pack with all you have, to respect the Alpha of the pack, and to Iove the pack?” I then reply, “I Lela promise to be the best Luna I can be, to protect my pack, to respect my Alpha, and to love my pack”. Then I slice my palm open with a short knife and let a few drops into the chalice, Alex then slices his palm and let’s a few drops in. After the blood mixes it is dumped on the pack grounds and that makes me Luna, right after Alex and I mark each other in front of the pack. Alex helps me up from my position and brings me in close, “I promise to try and be the best mate to you I can be”, with that he rubs his nose against my marking spot making me whimper, he places a brief kiss on my spot, and then I feel a sharp pain, which then turns into immense pleasure. Next thing I feel is Alex licking the wound the help it heal, I then look at Alex and place a kiss briefly to his lips, I say against his lips, “I too will try to be a good mate to you” i then place my nose against his marking spot, I feel a small shiver run through his body making me smile and I bite him to mark him, I feel the bond snap into place and back away in the surprise of the bond. I then remember that I need to lick the wound to help it heal, I do so, and the crowd cheers. Alex brings me in for a kiss but in the middle their is a loud howl and Alex stops to look at the west boarder. He then yells “ROUGES”.
