The Alpha’s Healer Mate

Goodbye for Now

My parents get up to hug me and leave to go back to their rooms since they leave early in the morning. I will have to remember to ask them to have someone send me my things since this will be my new pack. Good news is my dad’s beta had two sons and one is more dominant than the other. My dad decided a while ago to have him as a backup alpha heir just in case my mate was an Alpha, pretty smart on my dads part now knowing what I know.

I look at my mate and notice he has gotten up from where he was sitting and is slowly making his way to me. Even though I healed his leg, it will still be tender, the healing fixes the actual problem, but their is alway side effects from it, such as soreness,sensitivity, and some pain. I watch to make sure there are no complications from the healing, never have I ever heard of any, but doesn’t mean it would never happen either. I wait until he sits down beside me, then I ask, “Are you in a lot of pain”? He gives me a small little smile and replies, “No, it’s just tense and sore”. I nod and relax since I know nothing major happened, just the normal side effects. I decide it can’t hurt and decide into lean against my mate to snuggle. My wolf is happy with this decision and purrs. Yes funny enough wolves do purr, not just cats. It’s only done though when wolves are extremely happy or content with something. In this case my wolf was extremely happy with the touch of our mate and that he was accepting our affection in the form of snuggling.

After a few minutes of sitting in peace, I stand up and turn to my mate, “ well I should head to my room to get ready for bed”. Before I could even turn all the way around I was tugged down onto the couch. “Don’t think you are running away from me mate, you are spending the night with me tonight and for all other nights”, my mate stated. I was thinking about if I should fight him about it or not but decided the headache would not be worth it.

“Can I at least go get my toiletries and my clothes”? My mate c***s his head at me while thinking about my question, “fine, but I’m not leaving you by yourself until we know you are completely safe, I also will have to call for a pack meeting to introduce you to our pack and also give the order not to talk about your healer situation”. I nod realizing he isn’t trying to be ridiculous but that he is worried for my safety. I make my way up to the room I was to stay in and gathered my luggage that was packed for the trip. I also leave a note in the guest house kitchen for my parents to let them know that I took my luggage and to please send the rest of my belongings back after they get back to the pack lands. After that I go back to the sitting area where my mate was waiting for me. We walked a short way down the road to the pack house. All pack members can access the bottom floor, which has activities for members such as a movie theater room, game room, and inside pool to name a few. This is also we’re pack meeting are held, in the large conference room on the bottom floor, which just so happens to be next to the office of the Alpha and Luna.Then the second floor is for higher ups of the pack, such as a delta, gamma, and beta of the pack along with their mates and pups. Then the top floor is exclusively for the Alpha and Luna of the pack. There is a private kitchen, office, and living room for this suite making it nicer then some, but still modest. We decide that it has been an eventual enough of a day and at 2am you’re pretty tired. I take a turn in the private bathroom to shower, I wash my hair, and to be on the safe side shave. Who wants to sleep next to someone with stubbly legs? I change into my old shorts and tee shirt for bed that I’ve had since I was like 15. They have holes and are a little bare thread but they are so freaking comfortable that I can’t stand getting rid of them. I walk out to Alex laying in bed reading a book. He looks at me with an intense look in his eyes and gets up. I swallow hard at how he looks in the sweatpants he is wearing, no shirt at this point, and I can see all the muscles he has worked hard to obtain, right down to that V line… nope I need to stop that line of thought. I wait as my mate comes up to me waiting to see what it is he is going to do. Then my mate kisses my forehead in the sweetest way and goes into the bathroom. Then I hear the shower start and I release a breath I didn’t know I was holding. Wow, that was not what I was expecting at all. He is supposed to be a cold hearted Rouge killing machine, but he seems to be nice, if not sweet with me, must be because I am his mate. Not wanting to think about it anymore I plop onto the bed and snuggle under the covers. I’m barely awake when I hear the door open and footsteps get closer. I don’t worry though because it smells like my mate and my mate won’t hurt me. I feel someone get into the bed next to me and pull me close. I sigh in contentment and snuggle a little closer. I feel a kiss to my head and give a small smile in the dark, after that I fall completely asleep.

It’s about 8:30am when my eyes open again. I need to be quick and dress, my parents got delayed I heard via mind link and are leaving at 9am. I head to my luggage to get my hair brush and toothbrush. I finish my business in the bathroom and change quickly into jeans and a tee shirt. After that I spray myself down in masking spray since we haven’t had the pack meeting yet and head out of the pack house to make my way to the guest house down the road. I jog there to make sure I get there on time. Right as I get to the front door my mom and dad are at the door. 8:58 so two minutes to spare and say goodbye. I hug both my parents and tears make their way to my eyes, I have always been with my parents, how am I going to do this without them? My mom pulls back and wipes my eyes,”Don’t worry pup, this is only goodbye for now”. My mother and dad smile at me as they make their way to the car, then turn around one more time to wave before they get in the car and leave. That’s right, this is only goodbye for now, I will obviously see them again, that was part of the deal. Now I need to face my first day in this new pack as the Luna by myself. I can do this!
