******2 days later *******

I wake up to my alarm bright an early. I can feel the nerves setting in, today is the day of the pack meeting, this will be when I get to start my role as Luna. Also, this may be the day that Alex and I can start our bind. There are three steps to completing a bond. First is the marking, this is when mates mark each other on their necks to mix their scents together, this also shows other wolves that the wolf in question is spoken for. Second are the wolves mating in their form, this allows the wolves to have their connection together as mates. Third is the human sides mating together and becoming one, this is also the only way a wolf can get pregnant is in their human form.

******flashback to last night******

Alex had just finished his Alpha duties for the day and came into the room. I figured we should address the “elephant in this relationship”. “Alex, can you sit with me and have a chit chat?”. Alex sits in the couch next to me and faces me, “alright, what would you like to talk about?”. “I want to talk about our bond, I understand that if no one challenges me that we will need to mark each other which is fine, but I would like to move slower when it comes to the other aspects of the bond” I stated. Alex looks to be thinking for a moment and then replies back with, “ I will wait as long as you need time to, I understand that you would like to get to know me better before finishing the bond process, and so long as things go smoothly, it should be fine then”. I smile and thank Alex for his understanding when it came to my feeling on this matter.

*****back to present time*****

I jump in the shower and do all the nasty bits of shaving, washing my hair, and scrubbing myself down from top to bottom. Once I get out I put my hair products in and allow my hair to air dry so my curls aren’t as frizzy. Then I pull out my dress I bought just for today. Pack meetings are formal events and as such I needed a beautiful formal gown . I went to the shopping center here in town and got a beautiful red gown that has a corset top to hug my curves and then it flows naturally down my hips. There is a slit on the side to show off most of my leg and then the best part, it has pockets to shove my phone in. I also pack some work out gear in case a challenge is issued. Lately their has been a rise in challenges for mates when it comes to higher ranking pack members, one can never be too careful when it comes to these things. My dad always said anticipate the worst but hope for the best, that’s what I should do today. After I finish packing I put on some natural makeup and then head to the bottom floor of the pack house. By the time I fished getting ready for everything it was 3:00 in the afternoon and the meeting starts at 3:30. I was told to wait in a room off to the side to wait to be introduced to the rest of the pack, so I do so. I’m sitting playing on my phone trying to not be too nervous when Mark comes in to get me. “Time to show them who you are Luna”. I smile at mark and ready myself. I follow Mark into the meeting room and instantly there are over 500 eyes on me. From my research, all wolves who are over 18 are required to attend unless ill or working to secure the boarder. From my calculations based off of the pack data given to me, that would make it 650 members total in attendance. I walk to the head of the table and meet Alex. I put my hand in his and let him start.

“Attention everyone, I have called this meeting to introduce to you my Mate Lela. She will be your Luna and from her scent as you can tell she is special. No one pre or post challenge shall say anything about her to anyone outside of the pack that has to do with her being a healer. Is this understood?”, the pack as one replied, “Yes Alpha”. “Now that thats been taken care of, is anyone her willing to challenge the Luna for her position?” asks Alex. This is the moment when I wait and watch, I let some of my dominance show through as to warn off anyone who isn’t 100% convinced they could win. Then out of the silence we hear, “I Melody challenge Lela for the position of Luna along with her right to be the mate of Alexander”. Well shot of course, that’s just my luck.
