The Alpha’s Healer Mate

The trip

The Blood Ray pack is a six hour drive from our pack. We will be having to drive to the Blood Ray pack in order to get there, my mother hates to fly so, the car ride it is. My dad is taking no chances during this visit to the Blood Ray pack, I may be going as part of the guard, but he is leaving me to the easy part, the boarder. I have scent masking spray on to help hide the fact that I am the alpha’s daughter. Wolves can tell how dominant a person is not only by the markings on their body, the size of their wolf, but also the scent that they have.

Submissive wolves have a very sweet scent. This scent helps to distinguish that they are removed more from nature and are thus not a threat to more dominant wolves. Dominant wolves on the other hand have more earthy scents to show that they are closer to nature and more in tune with their wolf side.

Wolves also have markings, submissive wolves only have markings on their backs and generally only in one small area. Dominant wolves will have markings on their backs and arms, the more dominant, the more marking they have. Alpha’s are a different story, not only do they have markings on their backs, they have markings on their arms, but they also have markings on their chest. So, if they are going to shift, you know that you are facing and alpha no matter what direction you are in.

Since I’m on guard duty, I of course have to be in full uniform which helps to cover all of my markings. One thing that so far has never happened in history is that I am the only healer to have alpha markings, I am so far the only alpha healer to exist that we know of.

We have uniforms of black long sleeve dry fit shirts, black pants, utility belt with silver coated weapons, and combat boots. All of these things not only help us to blend in, but they help to cover markings so that way we may be able to surprise our enemy if they do not know our ranks in the pack.

Once we get to the Blood Ray pack, I will separate with the gamma, we will be paired with one in their human form and the other in their wolf form. The gamma will be running in his wolf form while I only stay in my human form to keep the masking scent spray from wearing off.

We are currently driving and almost to the Blood Ray pack, I can feel my wolf rising closer to the surface for some reason, I am assuming she is on guard since we are in a strange territory, which belongs to a pack that is not afraid to spill other packs blood if they become offended.

We are about to pass into their territory, I can feel it coming closer. One weird thing about a pack is that they claim a certain space as their territory, that place has a magical field around it to allow for other wolves to know they are trespassing. The closer you get to it, the stronger your wolf can feel it. This also allows for the Alpha of the pack to know when rouges invade into the packs territory. Bless the Moon Goddess for this, this has saved our own pack a time or two when rouges come in the middle of the night.

We are passing into the Blood Ray packs territory, the second we pass onto their territory, I can feel the electricity that serves as a warning on my skin. My parents and their guards continue to drive to the pack house where the alpha will be, our car on the other hand stops. We greet the Blood Ray boarder patrol, they then inform us of our patrol route and we get to work.

We are out patrolling for a few hours, nothing of concern has happened so far other than a few teen wolfs getting curious about who the visitors are from the Whole Moon pack. We just finished another round of patrol and get a mind link from my father to meet back at the guest house.

My wolf is jumping to be let out and run but I have to contain her so that way my scent doesn’t leak out, it would be bad if the Blood Ray pack figures out that I am a healer. We most likely would have a fight on our hands for sure if that were to happen.
