Helena, Montana, four months later…
Nicki stood in the living room watching Dominic hang their wedding portrait above the fireplace. It was very large. It was a lovely family picture with Nicki and Dominic in the middle and her family on the left and his on the right.
“There we go,” Dominic said stepping down off the step ladder. He took a few steps back and looked at his hanging job.
“It looks great.” She smiled.
“Well it was fun, but I’m glad that’s over. I never realized how stressful a wedding could be.” He said putting his arm around Nicki. “Now it’s finally just the two of us.”
“It’s not,” Nicki said smiling up at him.
“Are we expecting company?” He asked curiously.
“More like a border.” She said taking his hand and placing it on her belly.
