That was what could be used to describe the laugh that poured out of my throat after I listened to Christie. Oh, how such a fool I was. I always trusted the wrong people. I always gave them the power to hurt me. I always, always made the wrong choices.

As if on cue, Stella entered the room. Her hair looked out of place, and her mascara had run down her cheeks, as though she had been crying.
