"Mother!!" I called, pushing the door of her office open and storming in. "How could you mum?"
But as I entered I was taken aback by her calm repose. She was looking out through the window, not even flinching as I walked in.
I took a deep breath, taking steps to her desk. "Aurora has become bold and exposed, even threatening to take me down in the Gauntlet!!" I said, my voice breaking.
Mother just chuckled, the sound low and throaty. "Just as I expected," she said, rolling her chair to face me. There was a bottle in her hand as she faced me.
"What's that mum?" I asked, my pupils dilating as I stared at the strange bottle. I knew mother to do some 'nasty' things just to get her way but never in involving me directly.
