First Night

Emily didn't expect that it would just be her and Kai in the car. She thought he would bring his driver with him.

Based on the directions they were taking, he was going to take her to his mansion where she used to live before.

When the traffic light turned red, she saw on her peripheral view that Kai paid his attention to her. She chose not to be bothered by how his eyes roamed over her.

"Does your father know about our deal?" Kai asked.

"Yes." She answered without looking at him. She wanted him to feel that she was not in the mood to talk to him.

"And he agreed?" He chuckled.

She turned to him with a look of disgust on her face. "No, actually he does not agree with this."

Kai arched his brow and asked, "So why did you, then?"

"Elise Enterprise."

The stoplight had turned green and he started moving. "No other reasons?"

"I don't see any other reason for me to spend any minute and worse, 30 days with you except that, Kai Stevens."

He gave her a devil's laugh.

"I thought you wanted to spend more time with your former flame."

This time, she laughed.

"You're kidding, right?" she said to him with a smile on her face. "I don't feel anything for you anymore, Kai Stevens. What we had before has already been long forgotten by me."

Kai suddenly stopped the car that she almost caught her breath.

He turned to her and was looking at her so intently, and to prove to him that he had no effect on her anymore, she did the same, with a sarcastic smile on her face.

She didn't move back when he leaned forward that's why their faces were close to each other.

"Let's see if you can still give me that smile on the next days to come, Emily Fort."

The mansion still looked the same from the outside, but different inside. The furniture had been changed as well as some parts of its interior.

They were welcomed by his drivers and maids and she was surprised to see Nan who was equally surprised seeing her.

She didn't resist herself from hugging her.

"Oh, Nan! I missed you! Have you been well?" She was happy to see the person who had been her companion while Kai was in his office during her stay in his mansion.

Nan was smiling brightly at her. "I have been well, Emily. Look at you! You've become much lovelier! I'm glad you're back!"

Kai Stevens was silently observing Emily while she was happily talking to Nan.

"Will you be staying here for good, Emily?"

Before Emily could answer, Kai asked Nan to accompany Emily to her room.

While they were going up the stairs, Nan couldn't hide her happiness to Emily.

"This place will become brighter again now that you're here, Emily."

She just smiled at Nan.

"Will you be staying here for good?"

There was too much hope in Nan's eyes that she didn't know how to respond.

Nan seemed to understand. She took Emily's hands and squeezed them gently.

"Don't answer me, dear. What's important is you're here. Someone will accompany this old woman, yes?"

Emily happily nodded. No, she was not going to be lonely here. This set up might not even be that difficult.

Or so she thought.

Kai opened the door of his room and motioned Emily to get inside. When she did, she heard him lock the door.

Yes, she was nervous but she would die first before she let him see through her.

She looked around the room. Nothing much had changed. It still looked like a man's room. In the past, Kai would let her put vases with flowers on the corners of his room, and change the colors of curtains.

He used to tease her that it felt like her room and not his. She smiled as she remembered how he would bring one-stemmed flower for her every time he would come home from the office. Most of the time, he would shower her with bouquets of flowers.

All for his revenge.

She stopped herself from remembering the past and focused on her current situation. She saw Kai seated on the bed, silently looking at her. She chose to ignore him and started looking for her nighties.

She planned to just bring her silk pajamas but decided to bring what she usually wore before going to sleep.

She was not going to change anything just because she was trapped with Kai Stevens!

She went straight to the bathroom without looking at him. She could actually feel the holes he was creating on her back.

When she got inside the bathroom, she noticed there were a lot of women's toiletries on its glass cabinet.

She smirked as she thought about the number of women he had already brought in his room.

When she drew closer, she noticed that the brands were the same with what she used to use and what she was using now.

He really knows what women like. she quietly said.

A few minutes later, she was enjoying herself in the bathtub. She was feeling sleepy and was about to take a quick nap when she heard the door opened.

Kai Stevens!

He was giving her a seductive smile!

“Mind if I join?” Without waiting for her to reply, he took off his robe in front of her! He was completely naked!

“Wh- What do you think you're doing! Get out!” She didn't know what to do. She wanted to escape but how could she do that if she was not wearing anything!

Kai raised his left eyebrow. “This is my bathtub, woman.” He was making fun of her, for sure!

She moved her legs away from his and gave him a glaring look. The tub was not intended for two people who were obviously not happy with the situation!

No, he was enjoying it. Damn him!

“Fine. Turn away. I'll go out.”

“Now, don't be shy, Emily. I already saw whatever you are hiding with these bubbles. I kissed and t---" Before he could finish, Emily stood, in her naked glory, and went out of the tub.

Be brave. You can do this. Emily was telling herself. She promised herself that he was not going to get any emotion from her. She was never going to back down from all his dirty tricks.

“Who ever said that I'm shy?” She gave him a seductive half smile.

Kai was just staring at her naked body. She was proud of her body. Well, he used to tell her how her body could make him go crazy. Wasn't that the reason why he used to worship her body day and night?

All for his revenge.

Before she could turn her back from him, he said, “Aren't you going to take a shower?”

She looked back at him and said with a teasing smile, “Of course I am.” Then she went straight to the shower area, letting him see her every movement from its glass door.

When she gave him a quick glance, she saw his brows were furrowed and his twitching jaw.

Ah, she won this time!
