The Turmoil of The Moon Goddess (#3)

Chapter 9- Lilianna

** 79 days after Anna wakes up **

Red wolf is a man! I knew he must be a warrior but after staying in his wolf form for so long I forgot! He must be Daphne’s mate because I saw them kissing and touching in Daphne’s kitchen. She calls him Mylo, I prefer Red Wolf.

Red Wolf has been here with me for eleven weeks and it is the first time I have seen him in human form, and I feel betrayed. I have been treating him like my pet just like Ody I have been telling him all my secrets and he is a man!

I run from the house, heading towards the forest, I am not sure if I am allowed in there but the pull to be in there is so great that I do not give the consequences any regard. I stop at a broken tree trunk and sit down and have a little cry. Everything is still so strange, and I hate it.

It is a little while before I notice the presence of the biggest wolf I have ever seen, he is a beautiful dark brown wolf, almost black in places. He sits next to my feet, and after a while rubs his head on my knee, I give behind his ears a little scratch. 

I feel mesmerised by this wolf, the cold night air has abated, and my hands and legs are warm from where we touched. Before I know it, I am pouring my heart out to the brown wolf.  I sit on the floor next to him and he lays over my knee, giving me more warmth.  I feel so safe, the safest I have felt since I have been here.

Once I have cried myself out, I feel light in myself and I start to yawn as I rest my head on brown wolf.  I thank him for listening to me and for keeping me warm and he licks my face which tickles and takes me by surprise.

“You are the most adorable wolf I’ve ever met brown wolf; your fur is so soft and warm”. This is the most at ease I have felt since I woke up in the hospital. I wish I could stay here at least for a while, I do not want to leave this little spot, but I don’t want my aunt to worry. I snuggle a little closer to brown wolf, craving the warmth he gives me his scent is intoxicating and I fall into a peaceful sleep.

The sound of shouting wakes me, I do not know how long I have been asleep for, but it is the most rested I have felt. Brown wolf has gone but Daphne is beside me, she is crying, and she has put a blanket around me. I try to see where brown wolf is, and who is shouting? I can see the outline of men ahead- I recognise Alpha Adam, and I think that’s Mylo, but I cannot get a clear look at the other men. I stand up, I want to go back to my bedroom and the men stop shouting when the notice me.

As I get closer, I see Alex, Katy’s husband and a ginger man and their alpha, Alpha Andrew the man who said he was my mate.

“I’m sorry to have worried anyone, I am safe, has anyone seen my brown wolf who was here?”

Alpha Andrew replies to me “I didn’t see no wolf sorry Miss Lilianna.”

He doesn’t look me in the eye when he speaks to me “how come you are all here?”

“This is the border of our land; we were investigating a possible breach Miss Lilianna” replies the ginger man.

“I’m sorry I didn’t mean to encroach on your land, I was upset and just wanted to go into the woods” I feel a bit foolish now.

“you’re free to go into the woods whenever you want, but please tell your aunt or Mylo first so they don’t worry”. The ginger man tells me.

 I remember now why I was upset. Red wolf and my aunt kissing in the kitchen, feeling betrayed.

“Why do you stay in wolf form when you are my family, you are Daphne’s mate? Are you spying on me?” I see Daphne redden and I do not mean to upset her but I’m so confused and I don’t need more confusion.

“Anna me and Mylo are not mates, we are just... friends” why is she kissing someone who isn’t her mate?

“Friends don’t make out!” I see ginger man and Alex laughing even alpha Andrew has a smile on his face, I feel embarrassed now.

“Anna angel me and your aunt had a little moment, we like each other, well I really like her” Mylo winks at Daphne who blushes and looks away.

“I prefer you as a wolf Mylo, you don’t talk back” I start to walk away but remember about brown wolf.

“Alpha Adam, Alpha Andrew... if you do find my brown wolf, please don’t hurt him, he looked after me and he’s my friend” I wait to get their agreement and leave with Daphne and Mylo when they do.
