The Turmoil of The Moon Goddess (#3)

Chapter 11- Mylo

I am literally and figuratively in the doghouse. I lasted eleven weeks protecting my Luna in wolf form, so I did not frighten her, I only shifted when she was asleep. Our Gamma/Luna bond has been growing nicely and I did not want anything to interfere with that. Protecting and serving Anna will always be my primary and most important job. However I am allowed to have a private life and marrying my Luna's aunt needn't change things, it would make things easier. 

Every night I would shower and eat dinner with Daphne, and we built up a friendship, we had a lot in common and I would be a liar if I said I had not noticed how sexy she is. Daphne has got the curves a woman should have, as well as being funny, kind and sweet. I not only respect this woman, I admire her. She is fiercely strong, loyal and loving. I only have to look at how she has cared for my Luna, her niece and on her own too. She is a miraculous warrior and I would be proud for everyone to know she is mine. Even if she says no my heart belongs to her now and it will make it my life's work get her to agree!

It has been 5 years since my fated mate Rosalie had died, and whilst I had been free and available, enjoying short flings and one-night stands, not one of them come close to Daphne. She is a lady and my Lunas aunt to boot. She is not one night stand material, she was “take home and meet your mother” material, she was the settling down type. We had got close, remarkably close and although I am 31 years old, I feel like a teenager. We had not talked about the future, or how we would approach the Luna about it, but I hope now everyone knows that Daphne will at least put this and us on the table. I understand her being reluctant and frightened even but I am falling for her. Falling hard. How could I not, Daphne was a goddess, and I wanted her to be mine, I want her to want to be mine. and I want to be hers.

I got told off and rightly so, a momentary lapse and the Luna was gone. It is like watching a toddler at times. I was surprised that Alpha was so understanding, I had expected a lynching and Alex and Louis where more than willing to dish up my punishment. But Alpha intervened, eleven weeks without a break, and Anna had not come to any harm he said, but no more f**k ups, ask for help, it is ok to take a break.  I am going to take him up on that offer, just as soon as I settle things with Luna and persuade Daphne that a future with me is a good idea.  I like to think a future with me is a good idea, I could make her happy, I could look after her and I'd be honoured to be looked after by her too. I'd be honoured for everyone to know I am hers and she is mine.

It hurt a few weeks ago when I tried to be close to her hand in the woods but she pulled away, because she knew Alpha Andrew was in the background. I don't want to mess about and I don't want to have to hide. I'm man enough to know I love her and I would love the opportunity to show the world my better half, My Daphne. I just hope she has the same vision as me for the future otherwise this is going to get awkward fast. Maybe I should not let anything interfere with my sacred duty of protecting my Luna but I have to take this chance, especially the chance to finally get Daphne to agree to be mine. To marry me.

Luna has run off to her bedroom and slammed the door, so my plan is to tackle Daphne first. Luna just needs some time to cool off, and Ody is with her to keep her company. 

Daphne went straight to the kitchen when we got back, the scene of the crime as it where, so I make my way to face her. She is making tea, I watch her from the doorway, her feminine movements drive me crazy, the delicate way she spoons sugar into the cups, the cute flowery apron that her breasts fight to escape, her blue eyes, so big and full of life.

She catches me watching her and gives me a death stare, I cannot help but laugh,

“I suppose this is all my fault, is it?”

She shakes her head at me and goes to get the biscuit barrel, so I go to her and wrap my arms around her waist. She struggles a bit, but it is half-hearted, she wants to be near me, she just does not want to give it up easy. 

“Mylo, stop it, if she comes down and catches us again...” 

What the world will end, the moon goddess will strike me down?

“Come on Daphne, we are grownups, we don’t need to be sneaking around... I’m crazy about you, I want to make this official and I’m sure once Anna has time to digest it, she will give you her blessing”.

  She closes her eyes and I need to know what she is thinking.

“Is the thought of spending forever with me so bad my love?”  My heart rate has increased, is she going to knock me back? Have I read this wrong?

“It’s not as simple as that Mylo and you know that. There are things I cannot give you” she is everything I could want what is she getting?

“Like what?” I sound angry at her, but I am angry that she thinks she is not enough. She is everything I need and more.

“Children Mylo... I can’t give you children” she won’t look at me now, she’s embarrassed but I’m not going to give up I want her to know how much I want her. She is not getting away with out knowing how much I have fallen for her, how much I have to be with her. Children, she thought I would walk away over children? Anna is practically ours, and just because a child wont be biologically ours does not matter to me. She is what matters to me. I love her. I will get us pups if that is what she desires, I would give her everything.

“And what Daff?  I do not want you for your womb or as a brood mare, I’m not beholden to you because of the binds of the mate bond, I want you because I love you, I want to spend the rest of my life with you, and I can’t think of anyone better. If you want children then we will cross that bridge when we get to it, there are plenty of pups that need parents- I don’t care as long as it is with you.”

I am on my knees,

“Marry me?”

She still looks scared, but I have faith that I have won her over. She has fear in her eyes but there is longing there too, and a bit of love too. 

I hear a small knock on the doorframe, I turn and see Anna standing there.

“Hi, I’m sorry I didn’t mean to overhear but I did.”

She looks contrite, and to be honest, I prefer to be straight up about things, Anna does not need any more complications in her life right now. If Anna was to give her blessing to our union I know that would be half the battle won  in convincing Daphne.

“That is ok Angel, look this wasn’t meant to happen like this but it has- I love your auntie Daphne, truly I do, and I want to marry her and look after you both, if she’ll have me of course. And if she agrees then I hope you will give us both your blessing because we both love and care for you and will do anything to protect you.”

The force of her hug nearly knocks me over, Luna has never hugged me in human form and it feels great to finally be acknowledged and accepted by her. 

“Of course you both have my blessing, I’m sorry I overreacted it was just a bit of a shock! Daphne what do you say?” 

My Luna is my biggest advocate now, with her by my side giving us her blessing, how could Daphne ever think this wasn't a good idea?

Daphne looks between Anna and I with a look of shock over her face.

"Anna, are you sure you are okay with this? Mylo would become your uncle!" She asks her niece tentatively,

Luna smiles radiantly at the both of us "I could do with some more family, Mylo makes you happy Daphne, I want you to be happy!"

I think I’m going to get what I want  “So Miss O’Connor. Is this you saying yes? Will you be mine?”

I look to the goddess that is now my everything, searching her face for a clue of her answer. She still looks shocked but I see tears forming in her beautiful eyes,

“Yes. I will be yours, I will marry you Mylo”.

I get to my feet and rush to her. I take her beautiful face in my hands and kiss her. My Luna and future niece shows her appreciation by clapping and whooping in the background and even Ody gets excited and joins in by leaving a big puddle of his own making on the floor by our feet.
