Ch - 2 Roy Manson
Akash's eyes would sometimes look at the doctors, sometimes towards the woman who was standing at a distance watching him, and sometimes towards the man who was standing stunned - like a broken pillar, which is still saving a house from falling.
The doctors finish examining Akash and leave the room after some time. The atmosphere becomes calm for a while.
Now there was only Akash and a couple left in the room – a gentle looking man and a woman standing there with compassion in her eyes, who had just hugged Akash and was crying.
After a moment of silence, the woman said in a trembling voice, “Aakash… son… I… I am your mother… and this is your father.”
Akash was shocked. There was surprise in his eyes, a slight wrinkles on his forehead... and thousands of questions in his heart. "What? Mother...? Papa...? But... how?" His lips moved, but his voice seemed stuck.
The man stepped forward, held Akash's hand and said in a soft voice, “Son… when you were born, a terrible mistake happened. After your birth, you got separated from us due to the negligence of the hospital. We tried everything to find you… police reports, newspaper reports, every hospital, every orphanage… but you were nowhere to be found. That day… was the darkest day of our lives.”
Akash was stunned. It seemed as if her heartbeats had stopped. She slowly asked, “Then… how did you know that it was me…?”
Tears filled the woman's eyes again. He said smiling, “It was about a month ago… we were going out for some important work. Then we saw you on the roadside – you had run to save some small child. We both stopped there for a few moments… because your face… was exactly like your father.”
The man bowed his head and said, “We started looking at each other… as if our breathing had stopped. But… at that very moment the accident happened. You saved that child, but you yourself… got hit by a speeding car. We immediately brought you to this hospital, but by then you had gone into a coma.”
The woman leaned towards him and said, “We got you and me DNA tested… and when the report came… we were heartbroken… because it clearly said – you are our son… our sky!”
There was complete silence in the room. Aakash had tears in his eyes, but he was still unable to understand what he should feel. He bowed his head and said softly, “I have been brought up in an orphanage since childhood… I always thought that I too would have a family… someone who would love me… Are you really… my…?”
The woman held Akash's face in her hands, “Yes son… we are yours. And now… we don't want to lose you again.”
Akash's eyes filled with tears. Without stopping himself, he hugged someone and cried for the first time - because for the first time he felt that he was not alone.
The moment Akash heard their conversation, many questions arose in his mind."Are these people really my parents?" —His mind was full of confusion. But in that confusion there was also a sweet feeling… a feeling of happiness. Since childhood, he grew up in an orphanage, where there was love, but he was never able to feel the closeness of a family. And today suddenly someone was telling him that he was their lost son… it all seemed like a dream.
an hour later
A gleaming black car stopped in front of a luxurious and grand bungalow. Through the windows of the car, the guards standing next to it were seen bowing politely and saluting. When the car door opened, Geeta Roy was the first to step out, then Sudhir Roy, and finally Akash, looking in mild shock and excitement.
As soon as Akash saw the bungalow, his eyes opened with amazement. Marble floors, tall white pillars, the scent of exotic flowers in the lush green garden… he had seen such a house only in movies or dreams.
On the way, he also came to know that he is not just the son of a rich family, but he is the only heir of the most influential and wealthy family of the world, 'Roy Family'. He also has three elder sisters - the eagerness to meet whom had slowly started growing in his heart. Her father, Sudhir Roy, was an international business tycoon, and mother, Geeta Roy, a philanthropist and very affectionate woman.
“Aakash son, come inside,” Geeta ji said smilingly.
There was such peace in Geeta ji's voice as if a loved one who had been separated for years was calling her back. Akash nodded without saying anything and followed them inside.
As soon as the three people entered the luxurious hall, a deep and peaceful atmosphere spread all around. The room was spacious—high ceilings, royal chandeliers, soft rugs on the floor, and family photos adorning the walls that held years of memories. But at that moment, the warmth of the emotions present there was more important than the grandeur of the room.
Akash, Geeta ji and Sudhir ji slowly went and sat on the white velvet sofa. Thousands of questions were running in Akash's mind, but more than any question he wanted to feel this moment. There was a strange restlessness and familiarity in the eyes of Geeta ji sitting next to him. She was looking at him again and again – as if for the first time true relief was raining on the ground of her heart that had dried up over the years.
The reflection of the sky had settled in Geeta ji's eyes. He held Akash's palm with trembling hands and said in a low voice:
