Chapter Thirteen: First Night as Husband and Wife

1092 Words
In the meantime, Lyndsay pushed aside all thoughts about Marcus. She chose to set everything aside and reminded herself that whatever they once had was already over, so it should be fine for them to stay in the same place. How Marcus would accept it—or however he might react—was no longer her problem. After all, she was not the one who betrayed their relationship. So she had nothing to fear anymore. She could face her former lover with her head held high because she had done nothing wrong. That evening, they all had dinner together. Tristan also introduced her to his grandfather. Don Manuel was not feeling well, so he could no longer join them at the dining table. Instead, Lyndsay accompanied Tristan while they chatted with the old man in his room during dinner. From the outside, they truly looked like a real married couple. Tristan’s mother, Loisa, and Don Manuel were obviously delighted. When eight o’clock came, they finally allowed the old man to rest, while the two of them headed toward their room. The maids had already prepared Tristan’s old bedroom. It was spacious and refreshing to the eyes. The room smelled pleasant too—probably sprayed with air freshener to make it feel even cleaner and fresher. A tea-green carpet covered the floor. The curtains were the same shade and looked expensive. Lyndsay guessed that Tristan preferred light-colored interiors that were easy on the eyes. The room looked worlds apart from the small apartment she rented with her friend Clarisse. She was certain that if Clarisse were here, her eyes would feast on all the luxury surrounding them. The walls were painted white. The simple color made the room look even more elegant. The bed was enormous. The moment she sat down, she almost sank into its softness. This room was far too beautiful for someone like her who had grown used to hardship. In fact, the room itself was probably as large as the entire apartment she and Clarisse rented. She suddenly felt small. “Is there a problem?” Tristan asked. She barely noticed that he had already stepped out of the shower and was now wearing nothing but a towel around his waist. Lyndsay’s lips parted slightly upon seeing her “husband” half-naked. Tristan had a well-built body. His muscles were perfectly toned… and she nearly choked when her eyes wandered toward his abs and then… his man hood. She immediately shook away the thought. “Why did I even look there?” she silently scolded herself in embarrassment. “And now you’re acting shy? You’ve already seen everything before,” her mind screamed back at her. She could not even look directly at Tristan anymore. The thought that they would now sleep in the same room made her uneasy. It is really awkward. She almost grimaced at the chaos inside her head. To make things worse, her heart had begun pounding loudly. Shouldn’t she be relaxed? Why could she not calm herself down? Lyndsay knew she should already be used to seeing Tristan like this. “Lyndsay, is there something you don’t like about our room? I can ask the maids to fix or replace anything. Just tell me.” She could hear the sincerity in his voice. Tristan probably thought she wanted to change something in the room. But she was never picky with material things. She had grown used to living simply ever since her father abandoned her and her mother. “Ah… no, everything’s fine, Tristan. Don’t worry, there’s no problem. I,"I’ll just take a shower first… it’s a bit hot,” she quickly made an excuse. She immediately entered the bathroom and hurriedly removed her clothes. “My goodness, heart… why do you always make me stutter? Tristan might think I actually like him whenever you act this way,” she whispered to herself. Perhaps she could no longer stop herself from being attracted to her husband’s good looks. Tristan was undeniably handsome. If she were a different kind of woman, she probably would have already thrown herself at him. She often heard Clarisse joke that she had hit the jackpot with Tristan. After all, he was not only handsome but also rich. And not only that… even without much experience, she could definitely say that Tristan was a good partner in bed. She instantly felt embarrassed by her own thoughts again. As always, she tried to drive those thoughts away. “Oh, Lyndsay… what is wrong with you?” she muttered to herself. She carefully washed herself clean. It was as though she did not want even one percent of dirt left on her body after their trip. Then it suddenly crossed her mind that they might sleep side by side tonight. It would be embarrassing if she did not feel fresh and clean. Though she felt awkward about the thoughts running through her mind, she knew it was possible. After all, they were truly husband and wife now. She only applied a little conditioner to her hair when, accidentally, some got into her eyes. Unable to open them, she immediately searched for the shower to rinse them quickly because they were beginning to sting. But instead of turning on the shower, her hand slipped, causing the toiletries nearby to crash onto the floor. Lyndsay let out a scream and did not even realize that the man who had occupied her thoughts all evening was suddenly already standing right in front of her. Before she could even speak, Tristan was already helping her rinse herself off, especially her eyes. When she finally felt better, that was when she realized she was completely naked. “Oh my God!” And another “Oh my God” because Tristan looked like a blazing fire itself. The moment she opened her eyes, she closed them again as he captured her lips in a kiss. What was wrong with this man? Soon, he lifted her into his arms and carried her toward the bed. And the rest was history… They made love like two people truly in love. Tristan was extra careful. He even whispered to her that the OB-GYN had said everything would be alright. She even heard him moan her name like never before. Tristan was right when he said he would never do anything without her permission. And whatever happened between them tonight, she allowed it willingly. And this time, she was not drunk. And one more thing… This time, she truly wanted it too.
