Maya's POV
The sun climbed over the bed, casting morning light through the curtains in warm golden shadows. Waking up in this house still felt unreal, but as I stretched and heard the faint giggle coming from the hallway, I convinced myself I was here now. For Lee. For Sami.
After a quick wash-up, I went down to the ground floor to find Lee perched on a chair on the table, her feet dangling precariously as she munched on toast.
Sami sat beside her, not uttering much as he usually did, his little fingers fiddling with his plate of fruit. Adam was nowhere to be found, and my shoulders relaxed a little.
