I was wiping tears from my face listening to his version of last night. Guilt was stacking up inside me as I remembered sleeping peacefully next to Tyler in the little motel. Then again, there was no guarantee that I would be alive right now if we hadn't stopped for a few hours.
"That's when Dad issued the command for everyone to get to the pack house. Man, Jess, there were hunters everywhere outside. Liza and I got outside and arrows were flying everywhere. Dad was already in the middle fighting three hunters, and more warriors were closing in on them.
