I spent the night crying until I fell asleep, only to wake up crying again, repeating the pattern over and over. I had gone back to my house as the Gamma suite in the pack house was still sealed up. In fact, I would be just fine if I didn't have to move into the pack house for quite some time.
Rolling over in bed, I checked the sky through the window. A pale blue horizon lined the dark sky as the sun was just starting to come up. It has now been 26 hours since the hunters snuck into Mountain View and killed our Alpha, Luna, both Beta females and all four members of the Gamma family. The Demarco's had been Gamma's to Mountain View for generations. Their loyalty and fighting skills were unmatched. I had huge shoes to fill to even be half the gamma they were bred to be.
