Hello Boys

Alissa POV I looked at the number on the door infront of me and then back down at the university timetable in my hands. Biomedical sciences lecture room 405. Great I managed to make it to the right place. My wolf Alexis rolled her eyes at me in my head, obviously bored with this whole ordeal. There were no intoxicating smells coming from inside the lecture room, so obviously, our mate would not be in attendance. Thus, to her, this class was entirely pointless. It was a miracle I even managed to make it to Duke University at all. My parents had begged Alpha Richie to say no to Duke, but since there's no mate for me in our pack, there was no reason for me not to go. Besides, I was secretly hoping by chance I might manage to run into my mate here. Strong unmated wolves, from packs all over the world, often attend Duke University. Duke was wolf-only, meaning that other shifters weren't supposed to attend. They all had their own designated universities. Witches generally attended Penn State. While vampires attended Stanford, which is thankfully far away from Duke. So here I was. I opened the door to the lecture room very quietly, trying to draw as little attention to myself as possible. But to my luck, a room full of heads turned to look at me. Correction a room full of boys turned to look at me. There was not a single girl in sight. Alexis burst out laughing in my head. At least something had caught her attention. Ever since we left pack territory shes been moping around inside my head and it's beginning to give me a headache. “Only something like this would happen to you,” she taunted me. "At least this class looks like its going to be interesting." Even the lecturer looked as if he pitied me. He cleared his throat, drawing the classes attention back to him. "You must be Alissa Braun?" “Yes, sorry I'm late." I mumbled. “That's no worry Alissa, just take a seat. I'm Adrian, your lecturer for Biomed this semester." he smiled warmly at me. Adrian looked to be around 50 years old, he’s tall and skinny with a grey beard. By the looks of him, he’s going to be a good teacher. I scurried to a seat towards the back of the class. My eyes scanned the room. There were a lot of empty seats. Maybe I was in luck and there were some more girls who were also coming late today. “Your delusional." Alexis rolled her eyes, "There is no way anyone else is going to be coming 30 minutes late to the first lecture of the semester like you, Alissa." “Your always so positive Alexis, its really heartwarming.” “I think we should just focus on what’s important.” “Your probably right.” I sighed as I leaned down to take out my laptop and begin my notes. “I can't believe I'm stuck in your head for the rest of my life," she sighed. “Not the notes the boys." Generally, wolves were supposed to want to be loyal to their mates, even before meeting them. Alexis, however, doesnt seem to have that instinct. It's me who detests casual hookups. Besides, I don't mind waiting. “Not a chance Alexis." “Face it Alissa, he's not here. We might as well have some fun." I sighed, scanning the classroom and feeling homesick for just a moment. The wolves in my pack are breathtaking, tall, tan skin, muscles, each with their own distinct scent. Humans are bland in comparison. Though the guys in this class were definitely not the worst looking. “I need everyone to seperate into groups of three please," Professor Adrian interrupted my thoughts. "I like to run some group note taking activities in my lectures, it allows students to grasp the content from multiple different perspectives.” Shit. s**t. s**t. Who am I supposed to pair up with, I began to panic. Then a tan boy with a head of brown curls approached me, saving the day. "You can be with us," He gestured back to a blonde haired boy sitting at a desk nearby. "I'm Oscar and that i***t is Tom." He smiled at me. I stood up and followed him back to their seats. “You seem to have bad luck." Tom winked at me. “At least you're in for an interesting semester," Oscar laughed. "Just wait until the lab tomorrow." “What's happening in the lab tomorrow?" I asked with fake concern. “We're gonna be playing with blood!" They both grinned at me mischievously. Gross I thought to myself. I may be a wolf but I don’t hunt. The thought of blood made me sick. “The first year biomed students always do some sort of blood experiment at the beginning of semester.” Oscar finished. “Yeah and each year the students try and pull some sort of stunt. Now its our turn.” Tom whispered. I made a mental note to watch out for the two of their tricks at the lab tomorrow. The rest of the lecture went off without a hitch. Oscar and Tom turned out to be really nice and I was genuinely excited for the lab tomorrow. Even Alexis had started to settle down inside my head. There was only ten minutes left of the lesson and everyone was packing their things up and making note swapping arrangements when someone walked in. He had sunglasses on and a black hoodie covering his head. I would say he's atleast 6 foot 2 and lean, though he looked like he could be hiding muscles underneath all the clothes. He walked straight towards Adrian's desk without so much as glancing at the rest of us. “That human smells funny," Alexis, who had been pretty quiet since I had made friends with Tom and Oscar, piped up suddenly. He almost smells too clean like cleaning products." That's odd, I thought to myself. Humans generally smell like nothing or at most a type of clean smell, sort of like soap. “Your sense of smell is probably just messed up because of the new surroundings. I'm sure it's nothing." She snorted back at me in response. “Sorry professor, I was a late application and didn't realize classes were starting today." “Thats alright..” Adrian paused. “Blake, Blake Michael's sir." “Nice to meet you Blake. Don't worry, you are not too far behind, we still have the first lab for this class tomorrow. As for today, I'm sure one of the students here will be happy to give you their notes to copy off before tomorrow's lab." Adrian carried on. I was distracted from my eavesdropping once I realised majority of the class had slipped out during their conversation. Oscar and Tom had football practice now, but would come to my dorm room later to swap our notes. Professor Adrian had insisted we each exchange each other’s notes to get a deeper meaning of the content. Whatever that meant. I was just about done packing my stuff when I heard Adrian call my name. “You won’t be able to get the full experience like the other students Blake, but I’m sure Alissa here will be happy to lend you her notes to copy from.” great. Blake lifted his glasses onto his head giving me a proper look at his face. Mesmerising grey eyes peered down at me and a smirk stretched onto his lips as he watched me look up at him in awe. “I vote this one! I vote we hookup with this one!” Alexis practically shrieked in my head. My cheeks heated at her words. “Sure, I just need them back tonight so I can give it to uhm Tom and Oscar.” I mumbled, distracted by the way he was watching me so intensely. “No problem, Ill give you my number and come past your dorm room later on.” “Hear that Alissa he’s coming to our room.” Oh.
