After Jeff left, Rochelle and I stayed outside for a while talking. Lorene had gone home after getting into an argument with Adam about something. I figured Adam had his own problems and wanted to talk it out with her, but he was worried about me. So, he stayed inside, waiting for me in the living room. I hadn’t gone inside yet because Rochelle wouldn’t. She wouldn’t go inside the house with me, like I secretly wanted and needed her to. She just dragged on the inevitable. I finally pulled enough strength to ask her why.
