Miss perfect

LEENA'S POINT OF VIEW I was in my room now. My treasure. I had this room in forever. I had customized it to my taste and I loved everything about it. Honestly, I would hate to move out of my house just because of how attached I was to my room. I was obsessed with it. Mom had told me that she had prepared a dress for me to wear. It was in my closet so I headed to the walk in closet and the flashy dress hung up couldn't be missed. I could already tell it was the dress my mother was talking about. Apparently, her designer friend helped design it. I smiled inspecting it and I nodded to myself in approval. I liked the silky texture and the fact that it was sleeveless made it even better. I just didn't understand why I had to dress this fancy when I was just going to be around the house anyway but again it was my birthday. I think I should feel good being dressed a little fancy right? I took a deep breath and I decided to head to the bathroom and freshen up. I was a little jet lagged and tired. A shower felt like a good idea to wash away my fatigue. Getting out of the shower, I gasped loudly when my eyes came in contact with a familiar figure. I held my palm on my racing heart to calm down as I tried to catch a breath. "That's a little dramatic. I'm I that scary?"Claire asked sitting on the floor in my closet as she held a vape in her hand staring at me with a bored but blank expression. "Well, you can't blame me for being scared. It's not because you are scary, I just didn't expect to find you here."I said finally getting my heart to calm down. I began walking deeper into my closet. "I thought you had a call to make?"I stated not looking at Claire. "You know that was a lie."she told me and I smirked. "I was bored getting stuck between my mother and your mother. They couldn't stop talking about you."she said and I turned to look at her this time. "Hearing about you all day is boring."she added before she look her vape to her lips and she sucked on it. "You know vapes are bad for your lungs right?"I asked her. "Oh, trust me, every damn smoker knows that cigarettes are bad for them yet they choose to do it anyway."she told me smirking. "I know it's wrong but I still do it."she added blowing a cloud of smoke in the air. Thank heavens that didn't smell as disgusting as cigarette but it didn't change the fact that it was bad. "Why do you do it?"I asked her. "Because it's cool."she shrugged. "You are sacrificing your health to look cool?"I asked her. "I don't even think it's cool." "You are not the target audience. My friends think it's the coolest thing ever."she stated and I just stared at her vape. "You are little miss perfect, you wouldn't understand." I scoffed at her ridiculous claim. "I'm not perfect."I denied her claims. "Is this you acting oblivious or something? You know you are the definition of perfectionist. Everyone is proud of you because of how perfect you are. You know what I am talking about."she said and I could already pick on her irritation. "I'm not perfect."I said smiling. "You have the wrong idea about who I am. In fact, you have no idea who I am."I told Claire my smile turning a little cold. "Are you saying that all it too was four years to change? You expect me to believe that? What exactly are you not perfect at though? Can you change your nature that easily?"Claire asked me taking the vape to her mouth again. I walked to her and she stared at me confused about what I was doing but what I did next shocked her more. I took her vape and her eyes went wide. "What are you doing?"she asked frowning. Instead of answering her with words, I smirked and decided to just show her. It was easier. I took the vape to my mouth and like an expert I sucked on the vape while maintaining eye contact with her. Her shocked expression was a sight to see. I was glad I got that reaction out of her. I took the vape out of my mouth and handed it back to her while blowing smoke in the air. "Strawberry flavour is such a lame flavour. I took you as the daring type of person."I commented breaking the silence that had formed between us. Claire suddenly smirked. "Look what we have here? A vape expert. "she said. "So you smoke? All that talk about vapes being bad for your health was bullshit huh?"she asked. "Aren't I right?"I asked back. She was silent so I continued to ask. "and yes, I smoke not vape though it's not like I am addicted or something. I smoke sometimes."I shrugged. "Now that's interesting."Claire mumbled to herself but I did hear her. "So, do you want to be my friend or what? I think it's enough that you have hated me for so long. I am not perfect so I think you and I can be good friends."I tried to convince her to be my friend and end the hostility she had for me. Claire suddenly laughed as if I said a joke. I was dead serious. "Not yet, you are not cool enough for me."she told me and I appreciated the honesty. "My brother is cool enough for you?"I asked her. "Larry is charming. Not as cool but he's charming enough to entertain me. That's why I keep him around."she told me and I chuckled. "He will not like to be your friend anymore if he heard you say that. That's just cruel of you to say."I told her and she just shrugged. "I hope Larry doesn't vape though."I asked suddenly. Claire smiled. "He's on the clear. He doesn't do drugs."she told me and God, I didn't want to know what doing drugs for her meant. I was just glad Larry wasn't like her. "Do whatever you want just don't involve my brother in risky things that are dangerous to this health and well-being."I warned her my eyes a little stern and sharp. "You can get intimidating too huh?"Claire asked looking at her watch. "Don't worry about Larry. I wouldn't let him get in trouble because of me. I am not as dangerous as you think by the way."she told me getting up. I wasn't sure I believed what she was saying. Did she believe what she was saying? "You should get dressed little miss perfect."she told me smiling. How was she acting this superior when she and I were literally the same age. She was annoying somehow. "You are annoying. Do you know that?"I asked her. "That's a nice way of putting it. I thought I was worse."she shrugged and I rolled my eyes.
