The Coronation

(Emma) I wake to Max furiously l*****g my face, his hot breath stinking of dog food. “Ugh gross!” I groan to him. “You could at least brush your teeth before kissing me with kibble breath!” I begrudgingly pat the dogs head and sit up. Stretching my arms above my head, I see Darlene chewing a piece of toast in tiny mouse bites, an amused expression on her face. “He was also l*****g his balls earlier.” She turns green and hurdles herself towards the trashcan, crossing her legs as she heaves whatever was in her stomach up. She wipes her mouth, sighs and pats her belly. “I’m so sick of being sick, little girl, this is your official eviction notice, get out of me!” I walk to the sink and grab a washcloth from its hook. I turn the water on cold and get it damp before placing it on the back of Darlene’s neck. “I’m so glad Kara can’t get me pregnant.” I tell her and help Darlene back into her chair. Loud, trampling footsteps come from the back of the hall and Anthony pops his head into the kitchen. “Is everything okay? I heard yelling.” His blonde hair is freshly cut into a fade and his thick beard has been groomed and trimmed so the edges are smooth. My cheeks flush and I look away when I discoverhe’s in nothing but a towel. “Excuse me, lesbian present, please put on some clothes before it’s my turn to puke into the trash can.” Anthony and Darlene both laugh at me and he goes back down the hall to their bedroom. Darlene tells me to grab my bag and take a shower because she’s going to start on my hair as soon as I get out. I do as I’m instructed and scrub myself top to bottom, shaving every hair off my body and taking time to exfoliate my skin with a sugar scrub. After I wash out my conditioner, I apply a hair mask for extra moisture and then rinse that out too. Once I get out of the shower, I wipe the steam from the mirror and begin to work on shaping my eyebrows with tweezers and an eyebrow razor. I rub my entire body down with rose and honey lotion, frowning at the way my tummy jiggles each time I swipe across it. Finally content with my prep work, I slip my pink silk robe on and go out to the living room, where Darlene waits with all her hair styling tools laid out across the table. Anthony is sitting on the couch playing with Max, looking very dashing in his suit and tie. “Wow you clean up nice Mountain Man.” I say to him and take my seat. He stands up, brushing the dog hair off his pants. “I can look professional, my lady just likes me wild.” He wiggles his eyes at Darlene, who giggles like a teenage girl. “I have to head out and make sure all security measures are ready and in place, I’ll find you before it starts.” He tells his wife, pecking her sweetly on the cheek. With Anthony gone, Darlene turns on the hair dryer, making fast work drying and curling my hair. Each curl she places strategically on my head with shimmery gold hair pins, leaving a few loose strands to frame my face with. With my hair out of the way, she goes to take a shower and I start on my makeup. I apply a full face of foundation and concealer, then create a gold and black Smokey eye. My top eyeliner is black, helping exaggerate my eyelashes and the bottom is gold to pull the look together. About the time I’m applying a soft pink lipstick, Darlene is finished in the shower and I do her hair in a half up, half down style. I also do her makeup, keeping the color pallet soft to match her baby pink dress. Once she’s all ready, it’s time for me to get into my gown, which is just as stunning today as it was when I bought it. I’ve never been so dressed up in my life and I feel like a princess. We slip our heels on and she feeds and waters her dogs before getting into her car. Darlene drives us to the Crest, where there’s hundreds of people, guest and pack members alike, all entering and exiting the building. It’s the biggest gathering I’ve ever seen and I’m amazed at it all. I spot my mother waiting by the front entrance, looking a little lost with the guard who first escorted her here standing at her side. I think his name was Marcus. I tell Darlene we need to go meet up with her but she shakes her head no. “We have to get you through the back entrance, we don’t want anyone seeing you yet and walking through that crowd would be dangerous. Kara has a lot of friends, but she also has enemies, and I don’t want anything to happen to you.” I slouch slightly and frown. “I’ll call Marcus and have him bring her ‘round to the back okay?” She holds my hand for comfort. The next hour feels like a blur as we’re escorted into the building and asked to have a seat in a small office while final preparations are made. There’s a knock on the door and in comes my mother, who has tears running down her face. “My baby, you look so beautiful. I can’t believe your going to be a Luna in a few hours. I’m so incredibly proud of you.” She wraps her arms tightly around me, and I hug her back. “I wish your father could see you now, he would be so happy for you.” My own eyes fill with tears at the mention of my dad. I let go of of my mom to dab the corners of my eyes with a tissue to catch the tears before they fall. “Okay I’m done, no more crying, today is a happy day.” Darlene gets a text that it’s about to begin and to meet Anthony at their seats, and Marcus knocks on the door to tell my mom it’s time to go as well. I raise an eyebrow at her. “He’s a good man and has been helping me settle in, nothing more.” Mom assures me but I don’t buy it for a second. I see the way he watches her, drinking up her figure whenever he can. Still, I play dumb and kiss her cheek goodbye. They both leave me alone in the room, waiting for someone to come get me and lead me to the stage. “Emma?” A cool voice says from behind the door. “Yeah, I’m in here.” I reply, my heart beating faster as Kara slips into the room, closing the door behind her. I gasp at her outrageous beauty. A long silver dress appears to have been perfectly sculpted to hug her body and cascade down to the floor. Each silver sequin catches the light and looks like a million tiny snowflakes in the morning sun. A slit along the side exposes her left leg all the way up to the thigh, showing off her incredibly sexy, toned leg. The sleeves hang casually off her shoulders and dip down between her breasts with a deep V neck that nearly reaches her stomach. I almost feel like I’m dreaming because she looks too good to be true. Her silver-blonde hair is in a magnificent braid to one side, with diamonds threaded throughout and she wears lose strands along the outside of the braid to give her hair more volume. Kara’s blood red lips move as if she’s speaking to me but I don’t hear anything, I’m so hypnotized by her goddess-like beauty. “You look amazing.” I interrupt. The corner of her mouth curls into a smirk. “I was hoping to have that effect on you. If you had been listening to me, I was just saying how incredible you look.” I want to kiss her but I’m worried I’d mess up her makeup. “You look like Elsa.” I tell her, glancing up and down her body with l**t. I can’t decide if I want to continue looking at her in this dress or if I want to tear it off her and devour her right here. Kara chuckles lightly. “I knew you were going to say that, I think you look like Belle so we’re both Disney princesses today.” I shake my head and take her hand in mine. “No, Elsa was a Queen, just like you’re about to be.” She cups my face and looks so deeply into my eyes my heart swells. “I love you so much Emma.” I place my hand over hers. “I love you too.” Together, we walk out of the office with our heads high. A woman leads us to the entrance of the outside balcony that overlooks the entire courtyard. We can hear the crowd from in here and my heart begins racing, my own nervousness mixing with Kara’s. We hear Jorah’s loud footsteps coming down the hall. He has a large silver crown atop his head and a massive bear skin cloak that is so long is drags on the ground behind him. When he sees his daughter in her gown looking as beautiful as ever, his cold eyes soften and he kisses her cheek. “You look remarkable Daughter. Your mother’s beauty shines through you today.” He turns to me, taking my hand and kissing it as well, his beard hair scratching against my skin. “And you, what a beautiful mate for my child. What a magnificent Luna for my pack. I’m so proud of both of you.” “Thank you Father, I hope I can lead this pack just like you have.” Kara tells her dad, rolling a silver ring nervously back and forth over her knuckle. Jorah takes her face in his enormous hands. “No Kara, you will lead so much better than I have. Remember my dear, you must never show fear because you will feel no fear. Lead with authority. Fight with vigor. Love with all your heart. I love you daughter.” She nods to him, her smile dissipating as she turns to face the grand double doors. Misera appears, as the packs eldest member she will be the one doing the introductions. The old women’s long gray hair is in one intricate braid down her back, and she wears a shawl made of animal skins. “Are you all ready for this? The binding can be a bit painful but you mustn’t let it show.” She tells us, her eyes very serious. I start to ask what a binding is but Kara interjects. “We’re ready.” She says to the elder and looks to me. “Hold my hand as we walk out, we’re united in this.” She takes my hand in hers. “When we walk out, my father will go first and do a speech, we will stand on either side of him. Once he’s done, Misera will introduce us and start the binding. After that, we’re crowned Alpha and Luna of this pack and Queen and Queen Consort of all werewolves. Don’t look for Jeremy and Sarah, seeing them in the crowd will cause you to falter and nobody here must ever see us weak.” Kara’s voice is cold but I understand why this is so important and I nod in agreement. Misera opens the doors and the crowd begins cheering and clapping as Jorah steps onto the balcony. Kara and I follow, holding hands until we reach our places then let go and stand on either side of him. “Good morning pack mates, friends, family. I’m so glad you all are here today to witness this historical moment for our kind. Today I will be giving my position to my blood daughter Kara, and her mate Emma.” Jorah continues on with a brief speech before thanking everyone and giving the floor to Misera as he steps to the side. Misera clears her throat. “I’d like to start by formally introducing the two that stand before you.” She motions to us. “Please step forward Kara Kingston, born of wind and snow, the silver wolf, our future Queen.” Kara takes a single step forward, her face frozen and gaze straight ahead. Once the applause dies out Misera speaks again. “Please step forward Emma Scott, the green witch, our kingdoms light, our future Queen consort.” I take a shaky step forward and intertwine Kara’s hand in mine for support. I’m not sure if I was supposed to but the crowd goes wild when I do. The air is brisk but tolerable, and there’s thousands of people below us, the entire courtyard full of chairs all pushed tightly together, and there’s hundreds more standing along the edges. “Now for the binding ceremony.” One of the other elders rolls out a table that has candles and various tools. I spot a long, very sharp bear claw in the center of it, along with one silver gauntlet. “Kara, please step forward and offer your essence to the gauntlet.” Misera announces, and Kara holds her hand out. The old woman picks up the bear claw and cuts a long slit down my girlfriends palm, pouring her blood out. “Blood of the chosen, essence of the moon and gift of the wolf, I bind you to this pack for your eternity.” Misera holds Kara’s bloodied palm and spills it into the gauntlet. “Emma, please come to offer your essence to the gauntlet.” Misera cleans the bear claw on her shawl. I give her my hand and bite down on my tongue to keep from wincing as she cuts into my skin. “Blood of the chosen, essence of light and gift of magic, I bind you to this pack for your eternity.” She tilts my hand, letting the blood run into the cup. I watch as mine mixes with Kara’s. Misera takes both of our cut palms and places them together, my hand stinging as it comes into contact with Kara’s. My mate’s face never changes as she looks into my eyes and I match her expression. “Now drink to complete the binding.” The elder instructs. Kara goes first, the crimson liquid hidden in her lipstick, I wonder if that’s why she wore the dark color. As she hands the gauntlet off to me, I can feel a vibration starting in our connected hands, almost like a small jolt of electricity. I bring the rim to my lips, my heart doing flips with fear of what’s about to happen. The second I swallow the metallic drink, hot fire drops into my stomach and I bite down as hard as I can on my tongue to keep from screaming. Kara’s eyes are softer now, and I find comfort looking into her blue orbs. “I know, it’s almost over.” She mouths to me. The fire radiates from my center, flooding every inch of my body. After a few seconds it fades and I realize I had been holding my breath. Can you hear me? A voice pools into my head. My eyes widen in shock. Am I going crazy? I ask back mentally. Kara’s lip twitches as she tries not to smile. It’s me kitten, we’re binded to each other and to this pack now. That was a marriage of our souls. The claw has been used on every king and queen so we’re connected to the ancestors as well. “Now for the crowning!” Misera shouts, taking the gauntlet from my hand and turning us both towards the crowd again. “Jorah the bear killer, third of his name, the great white wolf, our current King, please step forward and sacrifice your crown and pelt.” Jorah does as he’s asked, gently taking off his crown and placing it on the table next to the claw. Next he unties his massive bear cloak and places it onto Kara, tying it around her neck. Misera lifts a silver crown with diamonds and sapphires embroidered in it from the bottom of the cart and sets it gently on Kara’s head. Another cart is brought out with a robe of white rams fur with dark brown mink along the edges of it. A small smiles creeps across my face that I’m unable to contain when I realize the rams fur is from my hunt the other day. Jorah lifts the fur and places it on me. “On behalf of our Luna who has passed.” He whispers to me. Misera comes over to me with a crown that seems to be made of silver branches twisted and intertwined together with tiny gemstones throughout in the shapes of flowers. Kara and I have completed the binding and the crowning, my fear is now replaced with excitement. “I present the Alpha and Luna of Silver Crest, the Queens of our kind!” Misera shouts from behind us and everyone erupts into screams and applause, throwing roses and flowers at the stage. Feeling beyond proud and happy, I raise my hands to the sky, and push power through my fingers and fill the air above the crowd with shimmering lights, creating my own Aurora Borealis. This brings on more excitement from the crowd as they begin shouting “All hail the Queens!” I turn my attention to my mate. “Can I kiss you now?” I ask and instead of answer she embraces me, pressing her lips firmly against mine for all to see. We press our foreheads together, gazing into each other’s eyes. “I can’t wait to mark you tonight.” Kara whispers huskily and heat instantly builds between my legs. It’s going to a long celebration with that image stuck in my head.
