(Kara) I watch Emma as she practically runs for the bathroom, her hips swaying in a way that makes me want to do things to her I’ve never done with anyone else.
The Alpha’s mate, Susan I think, huffs at Emma’s sudden outburst. “I apologize for my son’s mate. She’s still learning proper dinner etiquette. Hopefully a few weeks with me and she’ll fall right into her place.” She says, straightening her silverware.
“Your son’s mate?” I ask, surprising her as I’ve barely spoken three sentences all night. I’ve been far too focused on Emma. I knew my mate was going to be a woman, I had been well aware of my sexuality for years now. But I didn’t expect to find her engaged to a pipsqueak like Carter Balt. He was going to be a pathetic excuse for an Alpha, and to think his hands have touched my mate sends my wolf into a frenzy. She paces back and forth in my head, snarling at the intrusive thoughts I keep having of him using his scrawny p***s to claim what’s rightfully mine. Calm down, we will deal with him. I soothe her.
Susan clears her throat. “Well, his chosen mate. My son seems to love her so much he’d disregard the mate the moon goddess has given him to marry some wi-“
“That’s enough dear.” Jeremy growls at his wife. “We will not be having this conversation here.” Susan purses her lips together, obviously holding back what else she wanted to say.
I place my napkin in the table and scoot my chair out. “Please, excuse me for one moment. I need to use the restroom.” I get up promptly and walk towards the bathroom on the other side of the restaurant.
As soon as I open the bathroom door I’m hit with Emma’s intoxicating scent, and I see her leaning against the far wall trying to compose herself. She looks drop dead gorgeous, that emerald green dress hugging her round hips and the deep v showing two handfuls of cleavage nearly spilling out. She’s so sexy it makes my heart race.
“I hope you didn’t run away because of me.” I smirk, taking a step towards her. “I’d hate for you to miss out on such a fabulous dinner just because I’m there.” Emma’s eyes shoot open and her cherry red lips part as if to speak but nothing comes out. My wolf is practically whining for me to get closer, to touch her and see if she’s as soft as she looks. I give her another second to say something before closing the small distance between us and I’m standing inches from her face.
Emma looks up at me through her thick eyelashes, the jade green orbs never breaking contact with mine. “You look so beautiful tonight, if it wasn’t for that sack of meat on your arm, I would’ve kissed you right then. Tell me mate, why are you with someone like Carter Balt?” I don’t expect an answer as she seems so shy and shocked from the bond we’re both experiencing.
She surprises me by talking. “He’s my fiancé, I’m supposed to marry him in a couple of months.” Emma’s voice quivers.
I reach up and stroke a piece of her hair. “Why would you want to marry him when you can run away with me at this very moment? I could show you things you never dreamed of, I could give you everything you’ve ever deserved.” My voice is softer now than usual, and I feel as if I’m in a daze. She smells like perfection and I can’t help but wonder if she tastes like it too.
Emma shakes her head. “I can’t, you don’t understand. I owe this to them. I have to marry him. They took my mother and I in a long time ago. He needs a Luna like me in order to strengthen their pack. They need a witch as powerful as I am.” Emma pushes off the wall she’s leaning on and now we’re nearly touching chests. “I know I’m your mate, I felt it the second we walked in. But I can’t disappoint Jeremy, and I’m not even a lesbian.”
The last part makes me giggle, and she raises an eyebrow at me. “I’m sorry, it’s just that it’s obvious you’re not a lesbian, if you were, you wouldn’t be able to stand the thought of sleeping with him. It would repulse you every time he kissed you.” I notice a flash of truth to what I just in her eyes and I feel myself grow bolder. “Oh, kissing him does repulse you, doesn’t it? Have you ever felt pleasure being with a man, Emma? Have they ever made you cry their names while they f**k you?” I ask, c*****g my head to the side.
My words have an obvious reaction on her and I can smell her body’s arousal to me. But still, she tries to lie to me. “Some women just don’t enjoy s*x. Besides, it isn’t that important to me that I feel anything. As long as he’s happy.”
I scoff at her sentence. “That’s a damn lie and you know it. I don’t like when people lie to me. You’re much more important than he will ever be. If you aren’t a lesbian and you don’t feel pleasure with men, then this kiss won’t do anything for you.” I lean forward and kiss her, gripping her arms, getting drunk off her plush lips against mine. She freezes and for a second I think I was wrong, but then she melts into me, her hands roaming to my waist.
I deepen the kiss, moving one hand down the side of her body and the other I place against the wall behind us and I press her back into it, giving me the advantage in this kiss. Her tongue flicks against my bottom lip and I moan into her, opening my mouth and giving her access to me.
After drinking in as much of her sweet taste as I can, I move my swollen lips from her mouth to her neck, grazing my teeth against her soft, honey colored tan. Emma whimpers as I begin nibbling along her exposed color bone, and gods I’ve never heard a sexier noise in my life. I want more, I want to f**k her in this bathroom, but not today. I’m going to need to play some cat and mouse before I can make her officially mine. It’s bad business to steal someone’s fiancé and I need to make their breakup his idea.
I pull myself away from her and she seems lost now that we’re apart. “Are you sure you don’t want to feel anything during s*x? Because that kiss told me otherwise.” I give her a cocky grin. “Listen to me, my little witch, if you want more than a controlling, man sized toddler, I’ll be waiting for you.” I reach out to touch her hand before turning and leaving the bathroom, adding an extra sway to my hips.
I sit back down at the table and continue to pretend to listen to my father’s conversation about shipping containers and prices. Emma finds her seat and I finish the rest of the evening planning ways to t*****e and kill Carter. Each time his hand touches Emma’s I feel my self control lessen and when he kisses her I have to literally bite my tongue.
He leans in and whispers something about going back to their hotel room and I nearly lose it. Tonight’s my only chance, we’re flying back tomorrow and I’ll never see her again. She’ll marry this i***t and I’ll be stuck thousands of miles away with no chance to claim her.
“Father, if I may interrupt, I would just like to say after looking over all these plans I think the best way to end this dinner is to sign a contract, ensuring we’ll work together.” I look towards Alpha Jeremy, “I’d also like to invite you and your family to my coronation. It’s next week and many of our partners will be there. It only makes sense that all of you come.”
My dad shoots me a deadly glare. “Kara my dear, I’m sure the Balt’s have much more important things to do than flying up to the middle of a frozen wilderness to attend your party.”
Carter speaks and I have internally swat at my wolf for growling at the sound of his voice. “My father can tend to things at home and I would be delighted to come. I’ve never been so far north and would love to see Alaska.” He says with a moronic smile.
Alpha Jeremy clears his throat yet again. “I see our children have already taken it upon themselves to start making decisions for us old folk. I guess that means all we need to do is sign the dotted line and buy some plane tickets.” He clasps his hands together.
They sign the paperwork and everyone starts getting ready to leave. Overwhelming sadness fills my chest as I watch Carter stand and pull Emma to her feet. “It was nice to meet you. I look forward to seeing you again in Alaska.” Emma tells me before turning and walking off with her fiancé.
Soon you’ll be with us and we won’t even be able to remember his name. My wolf whispers, trying to comfort me.
