Chapter 09

638 Words
Lucan's POV Clara lay stretched across my desk, right on the edge of climax, her body rigid and her eyes squeezed shut. I stopped just before she finished, sensing my wolf about to seize control. If I heard that pretty mouth cry my name while her legs shook around my shoulders, f**k, I would lose everything. I would shift into my beast right here, right now, in front of a human. “More,” Clara whispered, her voice rough. Hell, I wanted to force my name from her lips so badly it physically hurt to pull back. “Clara, you have to leave,” I said, staring down at the wooden floor between her thighs. No matter how much I craved it, I could not look up into her pleading eyes or listen to those soft moans any longer. I was seconds from shifting with students still roaming the halls and Clara right here with me. She propped herself up on her forearms. “Is something wrong" “Now, Clara. Get out.” I stood quickly and turned my back so she would not see the canines in my mouth or the gold in my eyes. If I frightened her away now she might refuse the mate bond, and if she refused, my wolf would force himself on her. I knew he would do it. He had waited for her since we were eighteentwenty-five long years. Clara slid off the desk and shoved her skirt down. When she reached for her panties I snatched them and tore them clean off her body. “Mine,” I growled, control slipping fast. The fabric snapped against her thighs, leaving faint red marks. She stared at me with wide eyes, then hurried toward the office door. “I am sorry,” she said, breathless. “I should not have come. This was wrong.” I wanted to tell her none of this was wrong, that I was simply about to lose control, but I could not risk speaking again without my wolf taking over or transforming. So I let her slip out and close the door behind her. The second she vanished I snarled and gripped the desk, dragging my claws across the surface to give my wolf something to focus on. A distraction. Anything to keep him from chasing after Clara. Still… I could smell her. Everything felt sharper, stronger. “Find a mate now.” Growling louder, I flipped the desk, yanked books from the shelves, and pressed my nose into The Red Hammer she had returned earlier. I needed to give Clara enough time to reach her dorm safely before I left this place. Run. I needed to run. I needed to get off campus. I needed distance. If I stayed even a moment longer I would track her scent straight to her room and do far more than rip away another pair of panties to lock inside my desk. But the way she looked without them, the way her cunt smelled, the way her soft skin had felt in my hand… Fuck. After checking the halls for any remaining human students and sensing none, I strode out with my canines extended past my lips and my claws fully lengthened. When I shoved open one of the rear doors I dropped onto all fours and shifted into my wolf, forcing myself to ignore Clara’s lingering scent and race toward the pack house. That is exactly what I did. I ran hard through the damp forest, blocking out every foul smell around me. All I focused on was getting home… until I came face-to-face with Alpha Draven of the Goldtooth Pack, a ruthless man who had done far worse than slaughtering innocent humans to get what he wanted. And now he stood on my territory, demanding something from me.
