Clara’s POV
Professor Vance.
I stared at his name on the office door over and over, my palms growing damper by the second. I should not have come here, yet I could not stop myself. I needed to prove to myself that Lucan Vance, my professor, did not truly care about me. What had happened between us was nothing more than a meaningless hookup. If I told him I was transferring out of his class, he would simply shrug and say it did not matter to him.
Still… I should have come during office hours when other students were around. Not now, when the halls were emptying and Professor Vance was probably alone behind that door.
When I raised my hand to knock I stopped myself. What if he was not alone and was with another student, like Jasmine, doing the same things he had done to me yesterday? If I walked in on that or interrupted him and saw someone else, I would
“Thank f**k,” Professor Vance said from behind me.
My eyes widened and I spun around. Vance stood at the far end of the hallway, releasing a heavy breath, his broad shoulders slumped and lines creasing his forehead. At the sight of him I swallowed hard and stepped aside from his office door.
I did not know what to say, or how to say it, or whether I should speak at all.
So I stood there clutching my book to my chest while my heart hammered against my ribs. He walked closer, his hazel eyes growing more intense with every step. When he reached me he unlocked the office door and nodded for me to go inside.
“We need to talk.”
After hurrying into the room like prey, I stood awkwardly near the door. He moved around his desk and sat, jaw tight, gaze never leaving mine. “Where were you during class, Miss Sterling?”
“Ms. sterling?” I asked, suddenly thrown off.
He clenched his fists on the desk. “Answer my question.”
“No. I do not have to tell you where I was. It is not like you would care anyway,” I said, anger and jealousy flooding through me. “Not when you have Jasmine in your class now. I am surprised you even noticed I was missing.”
When his fists slammed down hard on the desk I jumped.
He stood, towering over the spot where he had knelt between my legs last night and tasted me. “Of course I noticed you were gone, Clara. Where were you? Why did you not tell me you were skipping class?”
Hurt and reeling, I stared at Professor Vance. “Why did you tell me to leave last night?”
Professor Vance tensed, the anger slowly draining from his face. After unclenching his fists he lowered them to his sides and sat back down, sighing through his nose. “Clara, it is not that simple. I …”
“It is okay,” I said. “That is not what I came here to discuss anyway. I wanted to tell you that I am …” I drew in a deep breath and opened my mouth. The first few tries produced no sound, but finally I forced the words out. “I am switching out of your class.”
Every soft line left his expression; dark brows drew together in anger. “No.”
“I have already emailed my advisor and told her I am switching into Wallace’s class.”
Lie.
I had not emailed my advisor yet. The message sat open on my laptop, but I had not been able to hit Send. The truth was I did not want to leave Vance’s class. I would do almost anything to stay, but this was so stupid because Professor Vance did not even like me that way seeing him with Jasmine had made me furious. I could not face that every single day.
Hell, I was a freshman in college. I should have been enjoying myself, not spiraling over a crush that could never go anywhere. It was already forbidden for us to have done what we did.
So I turned on my heel, away from an angry Professor Vance, and walked toward the door. Each step felt heavier than the last; my legs grew physically weighted with every pace. I could not understand why I was so drawn to him, yet I did not stop. I reached the door, turned the handle, and opened it only a few inches.
Professor Vance slammed his large, calloused hand against the door, forcing it shut, and pinned me against it. His nose traced up the side of my neck while his warm breath sent chills racing down my spine.
“You are not leaving me,” Vance growled into my ear. “You are mine.”
My breath caught; my p***y clenched at the words.
You are mine.
Two simple words that stirred feelings I really should not have been having.
“You are not walking out of here without me making your p***y f*****g cry all over my fingers,” he said, teeth brushing my neck.
Before I could react, Lucan shoved two fingers into my pants and between my p***y lips, stroking my wet, aching, needy cunt. I dug my fingers into the door until they turned white and bit my lip to stifle my whimpers. It happened so fast that the bookThe Legend of Lycaon slipped from my hands and hit the floor.
Professor Vance tensed, then kicked it under his bookcase, fingers thrusting into me so quickly it felt almost inhuman. Every time his fingers sank inside me my p***y made wet, filthy sounds for him and clenched even tighter.
“I want to be inside you so badly,” he growled against me, teeth sliding along my neck.
I clenched and spread my legs wider, arching my back. “Please, Professor, please, f**k me. It is all I have been able to think about these past few days. I … I have touched myself far too many times imagining you inside me.”
A monstrous sound tore from his throat; his hands grew rougher by the second. I tried to turn around, but he held me in place, rubbing and f*****g my p***y relentlessly with his fingers until my juices actually began running down my thighs.
Wanting to touch him, I reached back and laid my fingers against his cheek, dragging them through his thick facial hair and across his lips. He growled, ground his c**k against me from behind, and stroked my c**t. I traced my fingers over his bottom lip; the side of my index finger brushed against his teeth, which were elongated, large and thick and sharp enough to break skin.
My breath hitched again and I tried to turn to see what it was, but Lucan kept me pinned.
“Do not move,” he said, breathing hard against me while his fingers worked inside my p***y, bicep flexing against my side.
Pressure built low in my core; I was so close to coming from him. This was not quite as intense as last nightwhen he had put his mouth on my cunt and left his beard glistening with my juicesbut gosh, it still felt f*****g incredible.
“Kiss me,” I breathed, wanting more of him everywhere.
“I cannot,” he said tightly. “Please.”
“No,” he growled.
Even though I was so close and wanted it so badly, I… I did not understand this. I did not know what he wanted from me. He claimed he wanted to f**k me, yet he would not kiss me. He said he did not regret last night, yet now he would not even look me in the eye.
Anger surged through me. I shoved away from the door and spun around. Professor Vance growled louder this time, the sound so inhuman it both frightened me and made me clench, then turned to face his desk.
“What is wrong with you?” I asked, brows drawn together. “Why do you not want to see me?”
Professor Vance placed his hands on the desk, every muscle flexing through the back of his shirt. “Clara, it is not that I do not want to see you.”
“Then why can you not turn around and face me?” I asked, heart pounding in my chest. “Why can you not look me in the eye after what happened between us last night? If you did not regret it”
“I do not regret it,” Vance said harshly, the wooden desk cracking under his fingers. “Stop saying that.”
“No!” I crossed my arms over my chest, tears threatening because I was exhausted and upset.
I should never have flirted with him. I should never have come to his office hours. I should never have let him go down on me last night. I was less than a week into college and already completely messed up over this manover my own damn professor!for no good reason.
I turned back to the door and gripped the handle. What was wrong with me? I wanted him so badly it hurt to leave; I did not even have the strength to turn the knob and walk out on him. I f*****g wanted him, and it was twisting me up more than I had expected.
Another moment passed.
Vance moved behind me, settled his hand on my waist, and… pulled me closer, pressing his nose to my neck and inhaling sharply. “I do not regret it, Clara,” he whispered against my ear. “I would never regret you.”
I stared at the door, hand tightening on the knob. “Then why?”
“I am trying to protect you.”
“Are you trying to protect me or protect yourself?” I asked, lips pressed together.
If anyone found out about us he would be in trouble too. He would lose his position at the school and never be able to teach again. He made it sound as if this was all for my sake, but… it was also to protect himself.
Before I could react, Lucan turned me around, took my face in his hands, and kissed me hard, really kissed me. I sucked in a shocked breath and found myself melting under his touch. When he finally pulled back he rested his forehead against mine.
“I would rather have you than keep my job, Clara.” He tucked a strand of hair behind my ear. “You are not leaving my class. You are going to show up every morning bright and early so I can see this beautiful face of yours sitting in my front row. And you do not have a choice in that, honey. You are mine.”
