DOMINANT BLUE

CHAPTER 6

She left the class and when the teacher withdrew her attention from the class to stare at the attendance register, Sanvi came over to sit with me. I was very relaxed to find her next to me. Everything has seemed so weird since Aira showed up. The look on Sanvi's face told me that she was as confused as I was. She started bombarding her questions like a machine g*n. "Why did she sit with you? Did she want something? Did she tell you why the principal called her?"

I hid the box of the pendant in my bag before Sanvi could find out. I didn't want to confuse Sanvi more than she already was. Moreover, I was not sure what to tell her about the pendant."I don't really know but I guess she wants to be friends."

" Oh, that's weird. What were you guys talking about for so long?"

I wanted to tell her everything. I haven't really hidden anything from Sanvi or Anikesh or Suchita but now I just wanted to first find out the truth myself. She definitely knows something and I was desperate to get rid of this weirdly expensive-looking pendant too.

" I was just asking her why she sat with me and I think she wanted to tell me something more. But the principal sir called her ...

I was cut in between by the teacher. She asked everyone to turn to page 7 of the language book. We started studying but I was too startled to be able to focus. That pendant was bothering me even when I hid it and was not able to see it. There was some unusual vibe I was getting from that box, like some strange kind of power. I was just desperately waiting for Aira to come back and explain everything to me.

But she never returned the whole freaking day. It was like she disappeared. I asked the teacher and she told me she went home. Apparently, either the teacher didn't know why she went home or she didn't want me to know. Anikesh was nowhere to be seen either. I was so angry and confused. Sanvi was as dreaded as I was.

I went home with that pendant not knowing what to do. I thought about submitting it to the teacher but I didn't want to be the girl who complains about their classmates plus I didn't want Aira to get into any further trouble. Maybe she had some emergency and she had to leave. Anyway, she was new here and I didn't want to create any more problems for her than she already might be facing.

When I reached home I was exhausted. I kept my bag at the table in the living room and removed my shoes and socks. I went to the bathroom to freshen up. My father was home today cause it was my sister's birthday. She was turning 10 today. Like most sibling relationships, we hate each other but look out for each other as well. Ahh, she is a pain in the a*s but I love her. I had some good plans for her party tonight. After taking bath I got changed into my favorite comfortable blue shorts and a black t-shirt. When I came out, I was stunned to find Aira in the living room talking to my sister. She was sitting on the sofa looking absolutely stunning in black jeans and a black sleeveless shirt. Her hair were tied into a ponytail like always.
