She steps into the restricted area which the sergeant was stopping her from entering with inspector Mohit following her quietly

She looks at the body which was lying on the floor lifeless, people who were standing around it saw her and stand while maintaining a distance so she could have a close look at the body she bent a little and gives a close look at the body, she looks at the position at which body was and the surrounding of it, her attire and then looks at the building for a while as if she was calculating the distance from which she was fall from the roof mentally.

Vera: the girl seems really young

she straightened her knees then her legs, but her eyes were still glued to her body, she now was looking at the evidence the forensic expert had already packed in a little polythenes

Inspector Mohit: yeah mam she might be 19 or 20 years old.

There was a man in his mid-40s standing who was giving his statement to a sergeant, who was probably using his words less but was making actions with his hands She walked closer to him and asked him

she asked him a direct question but expect an answer with the whole explanation, she looked him directly in the eyes making sure that she will not scare him

Man: yes mam I came to throw trash here when I saw a body. Everybody in our colony throws trash here only.

he try to give as honest answer he could it was crystal clear from his eyes

Vera: did you listen or saw anything or smell anything strange

she was satisfied with an answer, therefore, ask another

Man: no mam I just saw the body and call the cops

he again gave a direct answer without wasting his time in explanation which seem he was giving to Sergent also

Vera: ok you can go now

she was sure he didn't know anything more than this and forcing him to answer anything was only a waste of time for both of them, she took a leave from him, saw the notes taken by the sergeant, and start discussing something with Mohit when these words fell into her ears

" don't you think your outfit is quite inappropriate for investigating the death scene?

Vera looked in that direction so could see the owner of the deep voice which she actually knew who could be and a boy in his late 20s was standing there with a smirk on his face.

It was Rudra Singh DIG and senior of vera.

Vera looked at him and in a slow voice asked Mohit which was way too low for even Mohit to hear properly

'what DIG is doing in a normal murder case?'

Mohit: mam the girl was known to his grandfather. So he requested him and the commissioner, sir, to pay special attention to the case.

he tried to match the level of volume he was asked questions and successfully matched it

Vera ( with a smirk ): sir your General awareness seems weak these days. This is a Party outfit only. I was off duty but the commissioner sir requested me to investigate the death scene. Seems like he trusts me more than you.

she also knew the words which can mock him if in case he think he was the only one who know how to use them

Before Rudra could say anything. Forensic medicine experts intervene in between and said while looking at Rudra and Vera.

Forensic medicine expert: sir case is clear it's a suicide. I can say this in context with surrounding and there is no pattern imprint across her neck or any other body part. Nor there is a footprint of any other person, nor an attacking weapon. I think she jump off of a building and by seeing her face I can say she was going through some trauma. rest I can tell you after the autopsy

Vera: but why did such a young girl commit suicide.

Inspector Mohit was about to say something but Rudra started speaking before he could.

Rudra: she was living with her single mother, who has a small bakery shop. She used to manage college and then help with her mother and then used to give some tuition also. The NGO set up by my grandfather she tops the scholarship in that NGO. Seems like she was going through a lot

Vera: But why now only?

Rudra: how would I know? Maybe she was unable to handle it anymore.

Mohit: mam what if there is college bullying involved.

Vera: look into it. We can't make statements from the theory.

Forensic medicine expert: ok mam then can we take the body with us now?

Vera: ok go-ahead

She once again looks at the body and utters " life is always going to be tough but why did you give up " under her breath. She moved away from that place and soon her eyes fall on something and she notices something.
