I look in the mirror one last time. My waist high brown hair is put up into a professional looking bun, you can see the nervousness in my blue eyes. I’m wearing a black knee length shirt with a navy button up shirt and a nice black cardigan. I feel arms wrap around me from behind. “Good luck with your first day of work, I love you.” “I love you too, Jared.”
I was almost late getting to work because of traffic, my new boss is already there in his office. I’m the new personal assistant of Jaxon Parker. He’s the CEO and owner of the biggest stock company in the world. He is the most attractive man I have ever seen. He has black hair that reaches the top of his ears and the most beautiful green eyes I’ve ever seen. The phone rang right as I got to my desk. “Miss Audrey, could you come in here for a moment?” “Yes, Mr.Parker. I’ll be right in.” I set my stuff onto my desk and headed into his office. It was just so he could walk me through how to carry out my new responsibilities and show me how he likes everything. “Miss Audrey, I expect perfection from you. I’m sending you an email of the appointments I need scheduled and your login information for my personal calendar. You should have all the information you need, just call me if you have any questions.” “Thank you, Mr.Parker.”
The rest of the day went by without a problem, everything was perfect. I just walked through the door and there was a woman’s shoes laying on the floor. All of a sudden there’s a woman giggling, I follow the sound all the way to my bedroom. I flung the door open to find Jared in my bed with two women. “Audrey, it’s not what it looks like.” I walk over to where he keeps his keys and I take off the key to my apartment. I throw his keys at him. “Jared, you better get the f**k out of my here before I call the cops to get you out.” I started throwing all of his stuff out of the windows. He tried to talk to me a couple of times, but he eventually left. The second I was alone in the house I locked the door and fell to the floor. I’ve been with Jared since high school, he was my first and only boyfriend. This must be why he never wanted to move in together, I don’t understand why he would do this. Especially in my apartment.
I call my best friend Gina and she gets to my house by seven. She listens to me cry and says she’s going to stay with me for a few days. We throw away all of my blankets and get some new ones at the closest store. She puts them in the washer and we watch movies all night. We fall asleep on the couch together. She gets me up and makes sure I’m ready for work in the morning. “You’ve got this Audrey, he wasn’t worth your time. Don’t let that s**t mess up this opportunity. I love you and I’ll be here after work about an hour after you should get home.” “Thank you, I love you too.”
Gina kept my life on track for the next couple of weeks, but eventually I stopped falling apart when I came home. Gina went home and continued to pop in every couple of days to check on me. I kept the situation from affecting my job. About a month after the incident Gina decided we should go out to a club.
It’s around seven on a Saturday and Gina is about to be here. I take one last look in the mirror. I’m wearing a short black dress that hugs my curves in all the right places with matching black six inch heels. I’m only 5’2, so the heels don’t make me that tall. I had smokey eye eyeshadow and red lipstick, I curled my hair in a way that perfectly framed my face. When I opened the door for Gina she looked shocked. She was wearing a red over the shoulder dress and her blonde hair was straightened and fell down to her collarbone. Her boyfriend was going to meet us there. “Come on Audrey, the cab is waiting downstairs.” She just pulled me into the elevator without giving me a chance to respond. “You need to have fun tonight, and maybe have s*x with a stranger. It could be therapeutic.” “Gina! You can’t talk like that, I’ve never even been to a club.”
We made it to the club by eight and almost no one was here, the three of us got a table and we sipped on mixed drinks and laughed for hours. Around eleven Gina pulled me onto the dance floor and we started grinding against each other in a provocative way. It didn’t take long until Jared pulled her away to dance with him because a guy looked at her. I was drunk enough to dance by myself and when I least expected it I heard an amused voice behind me. “Miss Audrey, this is the last place I expected to see you.”
I turned around only to come face to face with my boss and he had a cautious look on his face. I stood up straight and tried to act as sober as possible. “Mr.Parker, I didn’t think this club would be fancy enough for you. Why are you here?” He chuckled at my response. “Come sit with me, I’m curious to know more about your personal life.” I don’t know why, but I obeyed and followed him without a second thought. His table was in the vip area overlooking the club, there was a gorgeous guy with him. He has brown hair with green eyes and a smug smile, he kind of looked like Mr.Parker. “Well where did Jax find you? Do I have any chance of convincing you to tell me why you’re with my dear brother?” He barely gave us a chance to reach the table before saying that. I can’t stop the giggle that burst out of me. “I met him in a job interview, Mr.Parker is my boss. What’s your name?” Mr.Parker gave him a warning glance. “I’m Daniel, you should really call him Jax outside of work. Would you like to know stories of what he was like growing up?” Daniel told me all about what crazy things they did as teenagers and when Mr.Parker went to the bathroom he told me about Mr.Parker’s ex. He walked in on her with one of his friends.
After a while my phone started ringing and it was Jake. “I have to take Gina home, where are you at? You can spend the night at our place.” “Aww Jake, I’m not ready to go home. My new friend Daniel is telling me all kinds of funny things about Mr.Parker.” Mr.Parker took the phone from my hand at that moment. “Miss Audrey is not sober enough to decide to go home with some guy, I will be taking her to her apartment.” He promptly hung up. I convinced him to let me have a couple more mixed drinks before he pulled me into a car that was waiting for us outside of the club.
I wake up the next morning and I surprisingly don’t have a headache, but I feel extremely groggy. It takes me a minute to realize that I’m not in my own bed. I’m in a room with off white walls and wood floors. I recall running into Mr.Parker, but not much after that. I jerk the blanket off to find that I’m not wearing my dress, I’m wearing a large shirt. I look around and find a note on the nightstand. There is a bathroom to your left with a towel and some clothes, after you take a shower come to the kitchen. Take a right right outside of the room. Go down the stairs and through the living room. I take a quick shower and put on the large shirt and a pair of men’s shorts with an adjustable string. I follow the instructions just to find myself in a grand living room with huge glass windows completely covering one of the walls. There was a giant tv and nice black couch set with a matching table. I saw a doorway into what looked like a kitchen. I walked in to find Mr.Parker shirtless wearing just shorts and he was making pancakes. He looks at me with a smirk. “We have a lot to discuss, Miss Audrey.”
