“Hello?” I said, and the word sounded bizarrely normal. “Paris says find the Methodist cemetery in Augusta, Kansas.” Click. For several seconds, I could make no sense of the words, thoroughly distracted by the sound of her voice. By the time sense returned, I was listening to a dial tone. And the Formyndari Hunter was watching me. The words “wrong number” almost made it past my lips. But it would be an obvious lie.
