They were celebrating the eighteenth birthday of the eldest son, Benjamin 'Ben' Vongvanich. The family has been around for centuries now - a big clan and in this modern world, they're known for their status, their wealth, and the long line of alphas. Things have changed, their traditions, adapted and altered in the era where the population is now divided not just between males and females but also between alphas, betas, and omegas. "I don't get why this has to be this grand. I just want a simple party." Ben said looking at his mother while she prepares all the stuff he needs to wear for tonight. "Now, why would you say that, young man? It's your eighteenth birthday and you're the future head of the family," his mother Vanessa retorted. "Mom, I bet he just doesn't want to see all his girlfriends and boyfriends all in one place," Bradley, the second son said, while sipping something that looked like apple juice. It was not. "Hey! I do not have girlfriends and boyfriends." Brad raised his right eyebrow, a knowing smirk was plastered on his face. "Maybe a girlfriend." Ben sighed with a bored look in his eyes. Brad raised his left eyebrow, his smirk not leaving his lips. "...And two boyfriends," Ben finally said, almost in a whisper. "What?" Brad chortled. "Break up with two of them, you dumbass!" Brad told his older one while their mother just shook her head. She's had enough with the boys' lifestyle. She knew that after the eldest comes of age, he will have to start being an adult and act responsibly. She's a cool mom. She let them have fun. Then... "Alright, Ben. Enjoy the last remaining hours of your youth. You'll have to see and talk to your dad man to man after all this is done." Vanessa told her eldest child. "Ugh! Eighteen years isn't enough, Mother. Really not," Ben complained. "It wasn't for me either," she chuckled. "Your dad had to put you in my belly at seventeen. I had to step up and be an adult way too early. Now be a doll and not get a seventeen year old pregnant before you can inherit your dad's chair." "Be ready by seven. Both of you. I'll go check on my baby." She closed her son's door behind her after leaving and then headed two doors down to the youngest son's room. *** At eight in the evening, most of the guests have already arrived at the big house. The manor is seated on a very wide estate not far from the city. The head of the house, Alexander 'Xander' Vongvanich had already introduced the birthday boy and his soon to be the successor of the Vongvanich Empire. Everyone seemed to be enjoying the night. In a corner of the huge common room where the party was held, stood a young boy watching people dance, eat, and chat away. His parents were busy talking to the head of the house and his wife. 'What's that smell? Vanilla?' The boy was distracted when his nose caught a whiff of the sweet, intoxicating scent. He followed it, forgetting where he was, or where his parents were by now. 'And strawberry...My favorites! Time to eat. I'm starving!' He walked past a few people with their fancy suits and dresses down the hall and into an empty room. 'A music room? Where's the food?' Mind totally confused, the boy just acted on instinct, he followed the scent thinking it would be his favorite food. There, standing by the large window was a boy around his age. It wasn't food he found, but a boy. He was wearing glasses. Their gaze locked on to each other as the world seemed to stop. 'I want him.' Twelve year old Boon Vongvanich, the boy by the window, thought when he locked eyes with another boy. A boy. 'I want him.' The boy who was looking for vanilla and strawberry scents whispered to himself upon entering the room and saw the most beautiful creature he has ever seen. A boy. With dark black orbs framed by his thick brows and pale white skin. 'Mine.'  ___________________
