It was the day of my alpha ceremony. I couldn't believe the week had flew by. It didn't feel that long ago that Grace and I had woken up facing each other. We still had a bit of distance between as we laid there. Both of us were shocked that we had fallen asleep on the hill. She thanked me for being there for her. All I could do was hug her. My heart strings tugged. The pull was still there but I don't know why. it is what it is. We didn't train for the last couple of days due to her being busy. Grace had a loving and open minded way about her. She had become more of a friend than just a acquaintance. Even though she didn't want to get personal. I saw hints of herself that I never would of saw before. The real Grace popped up every once and while . She still kept a wall up. She is beautiful inside and out. Whoever her mate is going to be one lucky man. We didn't have school today due to preparations. My dad never found who could've let the rogues in. That would be a problem for me to fix. I knew there was something else going on. I would get to it as early as tomorrow. Sadly, I would be holding off on making Gio, my beta. The way he treats others especially Grace. What he did the other day was beyond below the belt. I was disappointed in him. I couldn't tolerate that behaviour. I would be making him go seek help. Once his behavior changed then he can have his position. That's only if I see him improving.I had to do what's best for the pack. There would be a few changes done in a way to improve the pack. The first half of my day, I worked with my dad in the office that would soon be mine. Now I was at home getting dressed in my slacks and skin tight dark green shirt. I looked good. I looked at the man in the mirror and I was proud. I wasn't like my father and don't hope to be. I heard a knock at my door and saw my mom. She was dressed in a dark green flowy dress. Her hair was nicely done. This was the first time in a while she looked herself inside the house. "Here" She said. I looked to see her holding a gold necklace . "Mom, you didn't have to" I said. "It belonged to my dad .I wanted you to have it." She said. I could only hug her and bent down. She put it on me and smiled." We should go now" She said. We walked out the house to the field to where the ceremony. It looked beautiful. I saw Leah coming towards me. Ace had pushed to the surface. He rolled his eyes and growled at her lowly. She seemed taken aback then shook it off. She had to the nerve to say pick her as a chosen mate if I couldn't find my mate. Oh moon goddess help me. Suddenly, I smelt a faint lavender and vanilla scent. "Mate! Mate! Find her!" He shouted to me. It was so many people at my ceremony. I couldn't pin point where or who she was. My dad called me up to the stage. As I went towards the stage and sniffed. I could smell it stronger. I stopped walking and turned to look at the farthest corner of the field to see Grace walking away slowly. She was not trying to be seen. "Mate!! Luca go to her!" Ace said. I yelled her name and she took off. I shredded my clothes as I chased her in wolf form. Why was she running from me with a bag ? I thought to myself. I had lost her and couldn't scent her. I couldn't understand why she ran. I walked to the hill where we had fallen asleep accidentally. Ace howled for our mate. I was angry that she ran. I sat looking over the territory for a while. My dad was yelling at me to get back. I closed the link to him. I finally walked back into the woods to see a silvery wolf looking at me. I smelled Grace's scent. "She's gorgeous even in wolf form." Ace said. I couldn't deny it. She's the most beautiful wolf I've seen. She was kind of big for a omega almost the size of my wolf. I changed back into human form and grabbed clothes out a tree. I had stashes of clothes all over the territory. "Why did you run?" I asked. I slipped on the shorts quickly as she looked away. I chuckled at her shyness. She changed back into human form and turned around. Ace growled as he saw her slashed up back .They looked freshed still .Her wolf can't heal that due to her skin looking stripped up. He realized he might of failed her of not pushing her more to talk. He didn't protect her . He pushed himself against her and slipped his shirt on her. "Why did you run ,Grace?" He asked again. "To be free of the bad memories and pain. I never expected you to be my mate" She whispered. In that moment, he knew Grace was probably the strongest person other than his mom that he knew. "Happy birthday beautiful" Luca whispered as he hugged her.
