Chapter Nineteen RICHARD WATCHED DOÑA Isabella talking to her daughter quietly in the opposite corner of the room. All the guests from Teresa’s dinner party had left except for Lady Swinborne, Lord Stowe and his mother-in-law. The evening had been an eye opening experience for Richard. He had learned that his new wife was an excellent hostess, creating a warm and welcoming atmosphere for the few guests they had decided would be necessary to invite.
