She shook her head to dislodge the disturbing thoughts and pulled out the first of her crates. Pointing the remote at the shore, she typed the home command and opened the crate. She yelped in fright when the black ground cover started undulating toward her. The bugs. A thick stream of darkness surged toward the crate and flowed inside. “Wow!” she said, impressed by Georgy’s skills. When the first crate filled, she locked it and put it in the boot of the flier. The bugs, looking under the flier’s signal lights like the shining black skin over the dark dull surface of the land, mulled aimlessly around her feet. She brought out the second crate, and the bugs poured willingly into the opening, as if happy to go home. She had another crate ready, but she didn’t think it would be enough. The
