We spent the night lying in the sand with our mates and learning everything we could about them. We let our souls connect, bringing us as close together as possible before we faced whatever the next day would bring.
I'd never known this type of happiness. Watching the curves of Noelani's face, the way she fiddled with her pinky when she didn't know what to say, the way her eyes would crinkle in the corners when she was truly happy, and how over the course of the night she became more comfortable with me- seeking my touch....it made my heart strain as it tried to burst from my chest.
