330 Words
48 hours earlier Its late, I couldn’t sleep, because you see today was meant to be my big day, the day I finally become a woman, it’s my 18 birthday today but I have no one, so there is no point in celebrating it. So I went for a walk, I look down at my watch, it show 01:56am, I must have lost track of time I have been walking for hours. Darkness surrounds me I see nothing but black. A little light appears ahead, I walk towards it with curiosity, the light begins to fade “hello” I call out, but there was no response, so I creep a little farther forward, but now the has completely faded but where the light was, now stands a sallower figure of a man standing there staring back at me. But I can’t see his face, I try to get a little closer, but then he turns away and runs out of sight. “Wait” I call, I scurry after him but I lose him in amongst the trees and the thick scrubs surrounding me. I decide to head back, But Just as I begin my journey home I hear a noise behind me, like a small stick breaking. My heart begins to beat a little bit faster and I begin to speed up tripping over a branch hurting my knee. I stop and hope that I’m alone, is so silent and all I can hear is my own heart beating. I stand up and continue home, picking up the pace a little bit more, still with this eerie feeling that someone is following me, lurking in the trees behind me. Than from behind I hear a loud crash, like a tree falling. I start sprinting back home, running as fast as I could, breathing so heavily. I can hear footsteps chasing me. The shrub begins to get thicker and thinker, I can barely move, but I keep running. Than something pulls me to the ground.
