Is she dead?

Alexander’s P.O.V. I heard her soft sobs, and her face turned pale. I slowly swiveled my chair around; now I could clearly see her trying to open the door. I got up from my chair, my gaze mocking her as I approached. The faint sound of her attempts to open the door echoed in the silent room. She turned her face to me in fear. She nodded her head in denial. I know she was aware I intended to harm her, and the fear was evident in her features. "You didn't answer me; how did you like the painting?" I smirked; my tone was sweet. She clung to the door, her hands trembling as she tried to open it, her face reddening with effort. “Who are you?” Her lips trembled, and my satisfaction gradually disappeared. I found my enemy; now the only thing to do was to root him out. I pushed a vase off the table with force and advanced towards her again. "Perhaps you don't know; I really dislike hearing questions in response to questions." I said it coldly, watching her tremble at my words. "Let me go. You... You can't risk locking me here. You don’t know what my father can do." She warned, her finger trembling as she pointed at me. But I didn't like that tone. I seized her wrist firmly and pulled her closer to me. “Are you threatening me?” I leaned over her, fire burning in my eyes and my hot breath heating her flushed face. I tightened my grip, and she bit her lip in pain. "I will scream. Let me go," she pleaded while trying to get away, but my grip began to tighten. Unable to bear her frightened gaze, I gripped her jaw tightly. "Shout all you want, but no one will come to save you, not even your father." I growled, watching her tears with anger. She whimpered as I pulled her hair and pushed her to fall to the ground. Her hair was badly scattered, and blood began to flow from her elbow as her black maxi revealed her scattered existence. She tried to slip from my grasp. Suddenly, there was a knock on the door. I glanced at it, and a mysterious smile spread on my lips. “I don’t know why, but I really enjoy your pain.” I said, and she stood up and ran towards the door, but before she could get there, I pulled her close, my grip tight around her waist. “Come in.” I ordered, and the automatic door was opened. My guards entered and stood like a robot. “Help please. Take me out of here.” She starts pleading to them in a trembling tone, but as her resistance grows, my grip tightens further. She was going to see a sight that she had probably never seen in her eighteen years of life. At my signal, they raised their faces and smiled, drawing guns from their pockets. Before she could react, they shot themselves. She screamed and hid her face in my chest; her existence started shaking violently. She trembled violently, her wrist still in my grasp. She screamed and sobbed as two lives were taken before her eyes. “You are a monster." I heard a whisper from her lips; she was saying it repeatedly. I could feel the lightness of her breathing and the wetness of my shirt. I remembered once again the moment when she touched me in the same way before. My feelings for her start to overwhelm me. "No, I need to kill her. I can’t afford that.” I knew I couldn't let myself get soft. “I am Alexander, son of Xavier, a name that struck fear into the hearts of my enemies. I would either kill or punish; forgiveness was not an option.” With that thought, I jerked her away from me with force. She stumbled and looked at me with a wet face. “Why? Why are you doing this? I don’t even know you. What wrong did I do to you?” she asked, her voice trembling. “But your father did. You are the key to my revenge, and I won't let you off the hook," I said, pulling out a gun from my pants and pointed at her. “But she is innocent.” Someone screamed inside of me. “No one is innocent.” I gritted my teeth and put the finger on the trigger. “Don’t, Alexander; her touch gives you peace. Don’t let her die.” The voice kept ringing again and again, and the determination to get revenge became weak. Her trembling body and wet green eyes made me weak; my hands trembled. For the first time in my life, killing someone has become difficult for me. “I am not going to kill you here; you will be killed in my parents’ house.” I said, and her eyes widened in shock. Before that, I took the revolver down and dragged her out. Someone came with a light’s speed and a gun in his hand; I couldn’t even move, and he shot her. I couldn’t understand what would happen in a second. Who dares to do this? He didn’t give me a chance to catch him, and he shot himself in the head. I hurried to her; her eyes were closed, and the blood was staining the floor red from her shoulder. The daughter of my enemy was dying in my arms. I should feel relieved or even happy, but strangely, I couldn't.
